This is sad really. Nothing will happen to him but I wonder how many are in prison for this.

So lots of people, including Republicans, back then during the 1980s and 1990s, quite greatly hated druggies and drug pushers, because many people were dying from cocaine overdoses or became drug addicts. So many politicians, like Biden, sought legal revenge against them for society, while hoping to earn votes. However, decades later, we have finally come to realize we can't imprison our way out of our nation's drug problems.

I've been following this case from the time this cleverly edited video first appeared about a week ago. As soon as the view count reaches a certain limit, these videos get instantly purged from Youtube. They also make it impossible to search for it, you have to have the link for the reuploads.

What is the possible explanation? The video does not contain misinformation, that's a fact. Adult, explicit content? Incriminating content about a celebrity (Hunter has now published a best-selling biography and is a widely recognized millionaire painter now)? Incriminating content about a president's son (but Hunter himself is not a politician, nobody voted for Hunter Biden)?

It is a curious case because Toronto's mayor, Rob Ford, smoking crack is still up on Youtube since 2016 and is instantly searchable (try it - "toronto mayor smoking crack" - bang, the first hit).

Someone please explain to me rationally what policy this video might be violating?

Here ya go! Do me a favor and explain to me why the Hunter Biden crack smoking videos are getting purged from Youtube, while the Toronto mayor's video is still available since 2016 with a quarter million views:

Let’s be real here. The war on drugs wasn’t about locking up the drug addicts. It was about locking up the drug dealers. I know people today like to pretend there were thousands of people in prison for non-violent drug violations when the vast majority had the gun charges dropped in plea deals because they probably didn’t have anything but circumstantial evidence to get convictions for the violent crimes (I.e., gang members who murdered people in the drug trade but no one would squeal on them and no physical evidence tied them to the crime).

That’s the whole point of the sentencing guidelines they put in place, to get these violent drug dealers off the streets. And it worked. You can see the precipitous drop in the murder rate after that was instituted.

We are going in the opposite direction for now, with an attendant rise in violent crime. The pendulum will swing the other way as soon as people get tired of their children being murdered for nothing.

The war on drugs since Nancy Reagan said, "just say no," has been a huge waste of money and lives. Maybe we should legalize all drugs and tax them because we sure aren't accomplishing anything the way we are going.

10s of 1000s of people in law enforcement would suddenly be without a war to fight if that happened, law enforcement budget money would be cut nation wide!

Law enforcement is the problem...they are why drug laws are still pursued so aggressively.
