What a lame response. There are a myriad of drugs that have both long and short term safety data that are not being used to fight against COVID. Know why? Because there is no evidence they are effective against COVID, no matter how safe they may be. Just like Ivermectin.
By your argument we should be using ibuprofen to treat COVID. It has no effect on the virus, but hey, it's been proven safe so why not?
Don’t use it then. Some doctors are prescribing it though because they actually follow the evidence.
Ivermectin may very well be the cure for Covid-19 infections, but no one wants to fund large studies for Ivermectin because it's a generic drug and the pharma companies will not be able to make much of a profit from Ivermectin.
All the profit comes from producing new patented vaccines or new patented meds. And therein lies one of the major problems in combating this pandemic. All the big pharma companies want to make a huge profit from producing new patented products, like the new mRNA vaccines. This focus on new patented products ignores older generic & cheaper meds that already exist, and might be far more effective in combating Covid-19.

Dr. Fauci even wrote about the wonderful characteristics of the oral drug to combat SARS.
They could not make money on Trump promoting the oral remedy.... Trump forced them to bring out the VAX they have had a patent on since 2015, on their own account.
They had to now discredit a proven remedy, to sell in mass and make BIG BUCKS, with an experimental VAX.
Remember, they all hated the VAX, before they loved it.
