The OP should do more research next time when starting a topic which he/she has clearly no idea about.

HuffPo article about Fauci from 2014: Whitewashing AIDS History

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/white...tory_b_4762295

"Dr. Anthony Fauci is rewriting history. He is doing so to disguise his shameful role in delaying promotion of an AIDS treatment that would have prevented tens of thousands of deaths in the first years of the epidemic."

"Had Fauci listened to people with AIDS and the clinicians treating them, and responded accordingly, he would have saved thousands of lives. He could easily have advocated awareness of the preventive treatment, as the de facto federal AIDS Czar, his influence was and is enormous.
In the two years between 1987, when Callen met with Fauci and 1989, when the guidelines were ultimately issued, nearly 17,000 people with AIDS suffocated from PCP. Most of these people might have lived had Fauci responded appropriately."

"Dr. Fauci was, and remains today, the head of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the head of the federal government’s AIDS research program. In 1987, pioneering AIDS activist Michael Callen begged Fauci for help in promoting the use of Bactrim as PCP prophylaxis and issuing interim guidelines urging physicians to prophylax those patients deemed at high risk for PCP."

"Fauci refused to acknowledge the evidence and, according to one account, even encouraged people with AIDS to stop taking treatments, like Bactrim, that weren’t specifically approved for use in people with AIDS. Longtime treatment activist Richard Jefferys wrote in 2001 that Fauci “went as far as telling activists attending a 1987 meeting that there was no data to suggest PCP prophylaxis was beneficial and that it may, in fact be dangerous."

A quote about Fauci from iconic 1990 book:

Good Intentions: How Big Business and the Medical Establishment Are Corrupting the Fight Against AIDS

"Callen told Fauci that there was plenty of evidence from community doctors that it was possible to prevent the onset of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) by prophylaxing with a new drug, aerosol pentamidine, or with an older drug, sold as Bactrim or Septra. Fauci nearly shouted, "I can't do that. I can't issue these kinds of guidelines and I can't convene a consensus conference." "Why not?" shot back Callen. "There's no data," Fauci practically screamed. Callen was dumbstruck. No data? What the hell was Fauci talking about? There was data all over New York. Joe Sonnabend, Nathaniel Pier, and Barbara Starrett were all using Bactrim and aerosol pentamidine with their patients. No one had died from PCP in New York in months. There was no data? Callen was furious. There was plenty of data, if only Fauci and the rest of NIH were willing to look at real people in real communities instead of the endless bottoms of their test tubes. "Please, I beg you, " Callen said. "Just tell doctors to simply consider it." Fauci dismissed the idea with a quick shake of his head. "I can't do that," he said. Callen was simply horrified at what was happening. He couldn't believe it. Fauci then gave Kramer, Kolodner, Gingell, Westmoreland, and Callen a lecture. "In the history of science, people have thought they've observed things and then it later turned out to be not so," he said. By implication, he, Dr. Anthony Fauci, was not about to let that happen to him. He would not take that risk. He would not be humiliated. Not even, thought Callen, if Fauci's decision cost the lives of tens of thousands of people with AIDS."

And Fauci was on the front lines of trying to communicate and inform, as the virus was trying to be figured out and all of that. Imperfect, yes. Made mistakes along the way? yes. A fraud? No. He's not pretending to be a scientist, he *is* a scientist and has worked in public health for decades.

You don't 'like' the news and want it to be different? Well that sucks, because a virus doesn't care about what you or I like, believe, disbelieve or anything else.

Dr. Fauci's work during the AIDS crisis starting in the '80s (under Reagan) and continuing on from there, made him a HERO to millions of people.

Why?

Because Fauci was the one who helped the activists (Act Up, and other groups) get in the door with the FDA and get a "seat at the table." The HIV/AIDS community of sufferers were trying to save theirs' and others' lives. Drug trials were slow, the FDA was glacial in their pace. Fauci assisted in getting members of these groups on panels to work with the FDA, so they could get promising drugs much faster than otherwise. Protocols for testing were established with participation by educated activists. This was a *very* active and inspiring effort. And it was no small feat.

So when you're busy disparaging Dr. Fauci because you think he's colluding or something to hurt people, you need to get some perspective on who he is and his history.

Read, learn, ponder.

He's not evil, and he's not a fraud. He's also not perfect. But he gets the data, he talks to the scientists, and he sees what is emerging. SARS2Covid was new, and knowledge about it has grown exponentially.

Hate him if that makes you feel better, but he's still an important contributor to science, research, and understanding infectious diseases.

"So let's use brain cells before we post things on the internet? Thiiinks."

Fauci is BASICALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING..

The above conversation between Callen and Fauci which I quoted from the book took place in 1983. Bactrim was approved by the FDA in 1989, when already tens of thousands had died.

https://www.poz.com/blog/the-long-road-to-pcp

"As early as 1977 it had been well established that PCP (Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia) could be prevented by an inexpensive medication, yet official recommendations for the use of this and other interventions as prophylactic agents against PCP in people with AIDS did not appear until 1989."

I'm sure he was thinking of his wife the entire time.
Wonder if he ever ran into Obama......within the course of his field studies of course.

1987 doctors had no idea how to treat AIDS nothing worked even into the early 90's. AZT wasn't even tolerated by most had lot of side effects it hardly worked. Really wasn't until 1995-96 when first real drugs started to work. Bactrim was just another Hydroxychloroquine which happens with every deadly epidemic. People will try anything because of the fear I get that. Fauci is a scientist he wants evidence to prove it works before he endorses something.

I want to know how Blood transfusions were allow to go on when they knew HIV had infected a 20 month old baby with full blown AIDS in 1982 the only source was a blood transfusion. Lot of people were just calling it a gay problem when it was infecting thousands getting blood transfusions. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK232419/

Fauci is a liar. That has been proven.
Your post is incoherent and mindless. You know I'm right.

Saying that he helped mostly gay and iv drug users during the AIDS crisis is somehow going to soften up the mostly anti gay anti trans Trump voter who does not like Fauci?

You are just giving them one more reason to hate Fauci and call him a leftist.
