What worked in Waco sounds like a good model for cleaning up God-knows-how-many violent, drug ridden ghetto housing projects that are infested with some of the worst people imaginable.
Sounds like an efficient, workable urban renewal plan to me.
It seems to me that both of these groups were given ample opportunity to surrender peacefully. Both group decided to violently resist and both groups suffered the consequences. When the police tell you to put down your gun, you should do so. Pretty simple.

The second amendment gives you no right to resist the police.

Unless you believe the probable cause used for the raid...or that the Davidians had a meth lab(that is how the fedgov. was able to use military equipment and bases in the raid, oddly enough the BATF is not responsible for raidng meth labs)
You remind me of a poster I discussed issues with on another forum, like you he was opposed to ownership of firearms.
When asked what he would do if attacked in his home he said he would jump out the window and run away...I pointed out that this might not work out so well for the less able members of his family but that seemed to not be a problem for him.
As I have stated in other threads on this forum, most people are just members of the herd, relying on the protection of numbers(the wolves will only kill so many so some of us will make it).
Even though the means to defend ourselves is available.

If the police tell you to put down your gun and you resist, you will die or go to jail. When Washington put down the Whiskey Rebellion the issue of citizens deciding the law for themselves was settled.
