And my thing is if you are vaccinated to protect yourself from those who are not then what's the problem? Vaccines don't work? Then why have them?

Mayor de Blasio is announcing that 69% of Blacks, 58% of Latinos, and the majority of Bronx residents are ineligible to eat in a restaurant or go to a gym.

How is it selfish? The vaccines don't prevent infection, transmission. It's supposed to reduce your symptoms and death (assuming that claim true). You are vaccinated because you are afraid of death or severe symptoms, and perhaps because you don't have a habit of hand-washing.

That didn't stop Bloomberg. At least I think it was Bloomberg.

That being said Di Blasio already is not running and the candidates for the next election are chosen.

So my wife and daughter (20) have had Covid and I would bet have better protection than the vaccines will provide cannot go to Carmine's. My wife is hesitant to take vaccines because of a drug her mother took that caused a lot of worry for her and because of a childhood reaction to the measles vaccine.

What is "proof"?

Here in California, they have this little paper card that the nurse or technician fills out with a pen, with your name, vaccine lot number, etc.

You could run one (or twenty) off on your home computer's printer, and fill it out with your left hand to make it look different from your normal handwriting. And the officials in the restaurant wouldn't know it from a real one... or at least, wouldn't have any reason to object. I expect Democrats to OK it as a Voter ID any minute now.

Is that little card a Federal thing, i.e. do they have the same card nationwide, at all vaccine sites in every state?

NYC to require proof of vaccination

I have no problem with de Blasio pissing off fellow Democrats in NYC!

It is selfish because a segment of the population likes to think they are superior morally to others. And because it is a talking point.
When in fact (as you pointed out) those who have had the vaccine can transmit the virus and also have very little to worry about getting the vaccine.
