There does not appear to be a Delta surge in Sweden. It has been found there but not spreading to any great degree yet.

They'll get a surge later in the year (fall) when more folks migrate inside. Same pattern as last year with the alpha virus. This is why Florida has their surge now, people migrate inside during summer to escape the heat... again same as last year with the alpha virus.

Variants become more contagious and less virulent over time.

Sweden's Covid spikes happen opposite the US it seems like. A few months ago when it looked like clear skies ahead for the US, Sweden was struggling much more.

Sweden killed off so many of its vulnerable elderly in the first wave of covid that there are a lot fewer in that demogrpahic left now in the country that are of highest risk.

How is your statement true when they have noticeably less deaths per capita than the US. Outside of Whitmer and Cuomo we didn't kill off many in the elderly population making our deaths disappear.

Over 62 percent of Sweden has had at least one dose of the vaccine and over 40 percent of the country is fully vaccinated.

That is awesome, but it was Sweden that was raked through the coals by the US and European mainstream media for their tactics.

Most New Zealanders also live near coastal areas with very mild winters so they can be outside more where it is less infectious.

The people of Sweden are an entirely different demographic makeup of what we have here. In Sweden, Yes many aspects of their society are socialistic in nature. But the mindset of the Swedish citizen is all out contributing to their society. In the US? HAHAHA hand out, GIME GIME GIME! Big difference. To many takers with a entitled mindset here in the US, for the Swedish model to work here.

Compare death rates in Sweden to peer countries like Norway and Denmark and their murder of their own citizens becomes painfully clear. Even the king of Sweden talks about how his country’s covid response was a failure for its citizens

The statement wasn't true. It's just something people say when a country or state doesn't lock down like good little soldiers. They get accused of intentionally killing their citizens. But if a state does lock down, and their elderly die anyway, then it gets called a tragedy.
