Why? Because it works. People have a inherent bias against the "other" and it gets them to avoid personal responsibility for their failings. Meanwhile in reality the reason were getting a massive outbreak is because Republican governors are trying to pretend the pandemic isnt a thing, and playing politics with a health issue. PERIOD.
The illegals? a drop in the bucket. We already had the virus here, and its spreading like wildfire because a whole bunch of folks are listening to idiotic propaganda that says they shouldnt take the vaccine.

It’s also a shame because although I’m fairly lefty on immigration, the disease angle has always been a strong reason why I do want an orderly, controlled border. It’s frustrating to watch the right make a mockery of what is otherwise an important point for why we want a controlled border to begin with.

It might be a contributing factor but only a fool would deny that allowing Covid infected migrants into our country is also a factor and maybe even more so. Funny how so many in here deflect to the unvaccinated Americans though. At least they have a right to be in our country but knowingly bringing Covid infected foreigners into our country which increases the spread is inexcusable.

As for the problem of not getting more and more Americans vaccinated, it’s a Biden fault since his administration is constantly sending out mixed messaging. Plus, during the 2020 election process, both Biden and Harris openly questioned the safety and effectiveness of “Trump’s vaccine. Yes, it was politics, but now, playing politics has consequences… Just like elections.
I’m vaccinated, but I’m too happy with proving your vaccination to strangers to gain entry to businesses, but it is what it is since, again, “elections have consequences” and unfortunately this is going to hurt far more Black people than White people. Being half Black, I understand why many Black people are cautious with government vaccinations.
If Biden, Harris or whoever is really running the country is smart, they would quite making this a political issue AND be fully honest with the people instead of threatening people with basically expulsion from society. Until this is done, it’s not going to change too much.
As for forcing the entire military and most federal employees to get a vaccination, this is going to blow up in the Biden’ Administration’s face since this will cause issues in the ranks by forcing people to make a decision about staying in the military then the military is currently facing a manpower issue AND China is basically on the March in Asia by claiming everything is theirs and the Iranians are acting up in the Persian Gulf by attacking shipping… Again.
Biden said he could fix this, which was pure political BS, but now it’s his problem to fix and he’s not doing a good job at it and it’s now reflecting in his approval numbers. Honestly, I’m just happy that Biden didn’t put Harris in charge of the Covid issue since, like on the border issue, a self inflected issue, she’s Missing in Action and hiding from her responsibilities to all the American people.

We have more deaths than India . 656 deaths. And this is with 90 % of people 65 and older vaccinated. Then we have over 36 million Americans with natural immunity because they had covid. That is over 10% with natural immunity.

Our infection rate is higher then the rate of those coming from these other countries. Basically if you have to pick between being in a room with 10 folks from Florida, or being in the room from 10 immigrants, pick the immigrants. You will be safer.
