wow.

he's right, though.

Quote:
A highly decorated British Army officer said he is “absolutely shocked” at President Joe Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal, rendering the 20-year war “a total waste.”

“6,500 people died, including 3,000 deaths at Twin Towers, and we didn’t achieve a single thing,” said retired Special Operations Staff Sgt. Trevor Coult, who has been feted by both the queen and President George W. Bush.

“Biden is the most incompetent president in the history of the United States,” Coult told the Washington Examiner. “He has befriended terrorists. The White House is not a friend to the West. It’s a danger while he is president.”

Coult said he has spoken to numerous British generals and Special Operations officers about Biden, and they all agree that no one can understand his logic.

“We believe Biden is more of a threat to the West than the Taliban ever was. Without a shadow of a doubt. He betrayed us,” Coult said.

This guy is implying that the USA had won the war and made great gains in Afghanistan. They hadn't -- they had been on a hamster wheel that this guy supported for years.

And if this guy thinks Biden was wrong to leave, doesn't it make sense he thought Trump was wrong to want to leave?

Y'all aren't doing yourselves any favor here.

Trump wouldn’t have left. Saying you are going to leave and actually doing it are two different things. Obama said he was going to leave Afghanistan, too. But he was talked out of it for 8 years.

Trump was talked out of leaving Syria, Mattis even resigned over it.

Biden’s problem is that he is surrounded by “yes men”. Blinken, Austin, and Milley all knew the dangers of leaving and they said nothing.

Trump spent two years on an exit strategy. Wanted to leave in November of last year and then May.

So you are saying he was just pretending to get votes.

Ooooh that's slimey.

right. women voting and getting educated, and having the taliban and AQ basically neutered was no accomplishment whatsoever.

When I said y'all -- I meant Repoublicans.

I should have made that clear.

I think trying to suggest Biden did a worse job of managing Afghanistan will be tough given that we have 20 years to look back on. If the 19 years before had been effective -- or even the last four, would Afghanistan fallen to the Taliban so quickly?

Keep in mind, as an American citizen, we are NEVER permitted to comply with or tolerate tyranny.

**If I held this belief (which I do not), I would be forced to not comply, things like federal laws, taxes, etc...I could not comply with any of those things.

The actual combat phase finished in 2014 with the end of Operation Enduring Freedom, which was replaced by Operation Freedom's Sentinel.

Operation Freedom's Sentinel, was part of the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission, which began on January 1, 2015. OFS had two components: counterterrorism and working with allies as part of Resolute Support.

The number of troops were vastly reduced, and casualties fell significantly.

As of 2019, among the forces contributing to the mission are 8,475 Americans training and helping Afghan forces, approximately 5,500 Americans engaged in counter-terrorism missions, 8,673 allied soldiers and 27,000 military contractors, this was a fraction of the amount there during Operation Enduring Freedom.

A new type of U.S. unit, the Security Force Assistance Brigades, began deploying to Afghanistan in February 2018 to support the mission.

Central to the support of the Afghan forces was Bagram Air Base which provided supplies for Afghan forces, as well as air support and numerous other roles, and was even central to the Afghan forces being paid.

The closure of Bagram Air Base was a massive blow to the Afghan forces even before the final withdrawal by Biden.
