It was not going to end "like this." That's the dumbest post of the day. We have 10,000 Americans stuck there, and thousands of press and government employees from other nations, stuck there. Not to mention tens of thousands of Afghani we promised we'd evacuate, so the Taliban would not kill them for assisting us all these years.

So HELL NO, It was NOT "always going to end like this."

He already blew it. I don't know why you can't accept that he's weakened America, he looks like a simp so China, North Korea and Russia will do whatever they want, he's putting tens of thousands of lives in danger, and we're vulnerable at the border - all because he withdrew the troops, leaving civilians and equipment behind - and then decided oops, I need to go back.

Epic failure! This is a much much bigger deal than you're aware of apparently.

Did National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan just say Biden did this on purpose?.....

....yes.....yes he did

”National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told reporters Tuesday that the Biden administration had planned for “all contingencies” in Afghanistan, repeating a line that President Joe Biden used in his remarks to the nation on Monday.

On Monday, Biden said that his administration had been “moving quickly to execute the plans we had put in place to respond to every constituency, including — and contingency — including the rapid collapse we’re seeing now.””

I have read that it never really was about terrorism, Afghanistan was not important to international terrorism, the Taliban don't care about other countries as long as they are left alone.

ObL was just a pretext to invade Afghanistan, which has giant amounts of natural resources and even more important, as US strategists openly admitted years ago, it is close to China's Xinjiang and new silk road.
But since the Taliban will likely end all contracts with Western natural resource companies and China has crushed terrorism in Xinjiang and turned it into a booming province, Afghanistan has turned out useless.

Not having any stained colonial/imperialist history in Afghanistan, China will likely benefit most from this new situation.

Regarding human rights, I suppose a system similar to Oman's could be a good Muslim path.

It's their country for God's sake.
Yes, I know, they're the actual men of Afghanistan. They're also bloodthirsty savages, as they've proven time and time again. It's just the way it is.

Agreed. Some people look down upon other cultures and third world countries. They think our ways are the only truly civilized way to be. So they use the power, money and influence of our government or deep pockets activists like bill Gates, to push their views and lifestyle choices onto the people of other nations.

We had the Obama years, where they were trying to import abortion and gender studies, and wokeness into nations like Afghanistan. If anything, these efforts turned a lot of the Afghani people against the US, which was seen as poisoning the minds of the young. Freaking gender studies classes in college, in backwards Muslim countries???
