Exactly right. The reason our military invasions of foreign countries and the subsequent “nation building” (to make them like mini USAs) exercises always end in terrible failure, is we are either ignorant of their cultures or don't care or think our way is better for them.

Aussies have sent in RAAF planes and have gotten some of our people out, and are also fast tracking visas for Afghans who assisted. Although dreadfully slow at that, and should have processed a lot of people out of there before now. Now it’s going to be too late for many that we should have allowed into Australia over the years.
There’s been call to get those people out of Afghanistan for years at this point.
Your own link says it was resolved and they had 5 months after that to leave and didnt. On top of that, Biden extended the deadline til August, giving them an extra 2 months and they still didnt leave.

And again, Biden didnt even extend the date til after it had passed, so they had absolutely no assurances, and stayed anyways.

Biden has single-handedly destroyed any future chance that people will assist the US military, with our assurances that we will take care of them, and not desert them to suffer the wrath of the Taliban, Nazis, or whoever.
