correct. He objected to Obama agreeing to allow OBL to be executed. That was a leading indicator.

You are basically trying to blame Biden because money hungry defense contractors left their employees in harms way.

So you wanna try that argument again ?

We lost maybe 40,000 (30,177 to suicide) Iraq and Afghanistan lost easily well over 300,000 people. I think we killed enough of them to make them think twice.

Best guess ….. the US Government is scrambling to get Press members out of Afghanistan to get better coverage from them. JoeBiden needs this Debacle to go away A.S.A.P.

Here you go for Biden’s cultists. I know in your head your dear leader can do no wrong even though he is the Commander in Chief

Default Taliban bribing local govts and army for 18 months

My view is that this fiasco is ALL ON BIDEN.

It was well known that Taliban had been systematically buying off local govts and the military from the time Trump negotiated Doha in 2020 per report in Washington Post two days ago. This is why the army and opposition evaporated. They had sold out long ago.
Quote:
The spectacular collapse began with a series of deals brokered in rural villages between the militant group and some of the Afghan government’s lowest-ranking officials.

The deals, initially offered early last year, were often described by Afghan officials as cease-fires, but Taliban leaders were in fact offering money in exchange for government forces to hand over their weapons, according to an Afghan officer and a U.S. official.

Over the next year and a half, the meetings advanced to the district level and then rapidly on to provincial capitals, culminating in a breathtaking series of negotiated surrenders by government forces.

The Taliban capitalized on the uncertainty caused by the February 2020 agreement reached in Doha, Qatar, Some Afghan forces realized they would soon no longer be able to count on American air power and other crucial battlefield support and grew receptive to the Taliban’s approaches.

It is NOT REMOTELY POSSIBLE our intelligence people and Biden did not know about this bribery. Biden was informed, he knew the risks even though he is denying it now, his military advisors informed him to handle this differently which he has never admitted to.

Biden, for whatever reason, maybe just the orneriness and stubbornness of an old man, fed up with this war, went against the best of counsel of his advisors.

I voted for Biden. I am HORRIFIED at the execution of our withdrawal and that there is no doubt thousands and thousands will be left behind to suffer whatever dreadful fate awaits.

I could never have voted for Trump who would certainly have destroyed what little is left of our democracy, but the the horrors in Afghanistan - I never expected from Biden.

All that said, I seriously doubt Trump would give a rat's behind about the Afghanis that had worked with the US for 20 years because Trump has never cared about anyone but himself. This fiasco I could certainly visualize with Trump. That Biden devolved to a Trump level of indifference and incompetence is beyond appalling.

There is even more to be furious about, as the US and West could have recouped a lot of money if they had stayed.

Afghanistan has been called in a US report the Saudi Arabia of Lithium.

Lithium being an essential part of batteries, and of course essential to plans for a lot of clean energy.

Geat news for China though, which is now doing mineral deals with the Chinese.

Here's Nigel Farage to help explain just how stupid Biden has been -

People on the other side of the aisle (other side from reason - I’m no partisan) don’t even want to engage on this topic. Many conversations to look at the facts and not just reflexively vote their tribe and here we are. 7 months in. It’s so frustrating. These are human lives.
