The logic is pretty simple: you evacuate the citizens first, through Bagram airbase, then the troops.

You don’t close the one damn secure military base you have left in the middle of the night, and send the troops home before evacuating citizens.

Now Biden says the current 6,000 and special forces troops will stay AFTER his own deadline, undermining the entire point of withdrawing.
Do you think this would have been any different if they pulled out May 1 or next year, pretty obvious that the Afghan force was a house of cards. Still don't see why these citizens didn't leave earlier, it puts us in a difficult position. Americans wanted us out of there period.

I mean anyone with a brain knows he is a moron. We need to get rid of him RIGHT NOW before he does something even more rash. I mean, vaccine mandates show he has no respect or care fo the citizens of this country.

But he also has no compassion for the poor people of Afghanistan[/QUOTE]
Yup. During an interview with George S., he was asked about the desperate people who fell to their deaths trying to hang on to the airplane's wing. Biden's response? "That was four days ago!"

You do if you have dementia and total absence of executive function. (Not good qualities for the president of the United States.)

The buck stops with Biden. Of course it could have been much different. First you have a president in July saying everything will be fine. So of course these Americans there had false security that what is happening now would not happen. Put that on Biden. We should have told all Americans to leave months ago and sped up the processing of Afghans who we promised to get out of the country. We should have kept the air base open just to get people out. A steady stream of planes landing there. And if all this could not be done in time, extend one more time the deadline. Biden said he had no choice Trump set the deadline. But now he has extended that deadline not once but now twice. So that was another lie. I was tough on Trump for a long time. But this is worse than any single mistake Trump made. Clearly foreign policy wise the worst mistake a POTUS has made since invading Iraq.

Another pathetic leftist has to argue against what no one ever said

I guess that's all they have left at this point.

He didn't say everything was fine he said the "Taliban overrunning the country was highly unlikely". Statements by a president are important, if he asked every US citizen to leave immediately what do you suppose would have happened. Still the state department was working to get every US citizen out of the country even offering them funding. I am sure his statement was to prevent panic because the Taliban had been taking over real estate and cities ever since the peace agreement was signed and they knew it would be a matter of time.

The agreement with the Taliban was to avoid violence, I don't think they want anything other than us to leave at this point. The worst mistake was invading Afghanistan and remaining 20 years, no matter who was president withdrawal was going to be ugly, too many laptop experts trying to simplify this complicated moment. Biden will be this generations Nixon, someone had to do make the decision rather than kicking the ball down the road another election.

Jake Sullivan: Biden didn't think it was "inevitable" Taliban would take control

https://www.axios.com/biden-taliban-...6e3cccf7f.html

  • "The Taliban is not the North Vietnamese army. They’re not remotely comparable in terms of capability," Biden told reporters on July 8.
  • "There’s going to be no circumstance where you see people being lifted off the roof of an embassy of the United States from Afghanistan. It is not at all comparable."
bears repeating, over and over.

Yes, and Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton has stated he's tried for months to get them to start evacuating civilians. He called BS on Biden's lie that they didn't want to leave earlier and he said:

Quote:
“To say that today is anything short of a disaster would be dishonest. Worse, it was avoidable. The time to debate whether we stay in Afghanistan has passed, but there is still time to debate how we manage our retreat,” Moulton said in a statement.

“For months, I have been calling on the Administration to evacuate our allies immediately—not to wait for paperwork, for shaky agreements with third countries, or for time to make it look more 'orderly,’” he added.
These people can't even get through the crowds to get TO the airport. This will go down as one of the most shameful and disgraceful events in history and Biden will be recorded as the most deceitful, incompetent president we've ever had.

Why are you lying?

Most conservatives agreed with the Trump plan to exit Afghanistan.
