The Biden administration is totally dumbfounded and clueless to know what is going on. Pure stupidity at it's finest.
He had eight months to figure out how many Americans were in Afghanistan, failed, and then fled leaving hundreds of citizens and green card holders to fend for themselves. No president has ever ordered our military to depart a war zone and knowingly leave so many American citizens behind. Sadly, our generals nodded and followed those orders, and didn't resign after refusing to do so.
And the thing is, Biden lied, he was not responsible for flying out 124,000, tens of thousands were flown out by other nations, like India, UK, EU nations, Canada, etc... but Biden being the consummate liar claims credit for everyone being evacuated.

Consider a hypothetical situation where the Afghan Army had been able to withstand the Taliban attack, at least for a period of six months. What would have happened then? I suspect as the situation started to decay, we'd have had plenty of time to extract those people who wanted to leave in a more orderly fashion. Would Biden get blamed then? Maybe not nearly as much. Basically then, Biden is being blamed for the collapse of the Afghan Army.

That's true, but as I mentioned earlier, if Biden had timed the withdrawal to be completed by May 1, the US would have had the help of the winter to hold off the Taliban advances during the course of the withdrawal.

The problem there is most likely the Presidential transition. They spent the first few months getting the cabinet up to speed, pushing their early agenda, and getting people vaccinated, so they couldn't afford the additional distraction.
It would have been better to move the withdrawal up to the start of the 2021-2022 winter climate in late November, IMO. But we aren't privy to all the factors that went into the decision. Perhaps there were military concerns?

After 20 years, what difference in the overall military situation could waiting another few months make...unless they had information that the military would collapse within that time no matter what.
Biden got blindsided as would have Trump. The US assumption was that the Afghan government would hold on and contain the Taliban. That of course was wrong.
Biden's view was that the US had to either get out or escalate. He chose get out which would appear to have minimized US casualties.
Would Trump have done better? Might have but could also have done far worse. No way we will ever know.
Biden was not blindsided. He knew, per the call with afghan pres, asking him to lie.
I am not Biden support, and I don't think he means to disrespect the fallen soldier. When people grow old "old," they will lose a sense of self-control (trust me, I know few old people like that). Biden is in the 'old' 70's. He might just want to check the time for each casket to see how long it took for each casket. I know it sounds stupid. In fact, I believe he did not realize what he did was wrong as well.
Careful, If you stretch much farther you just might fall over.. Biden is unconscious most of the time, he is in a stupor, rarely does he know what is going on around him..
