It appears they are experimenting with and attempting to modify virulent organisms. However, I would assume that the Wuhan leak was accidental. Had they been using this as a bio-weapon test run, they would have released it elsewhere.
It's not just "they". The US partnered with them on GOF experiments right here in the US in the CDC NC lab.
Then we stopped GOF and they moved it to China and we continued funding via a third party.
How much of an enemy is China when we're partnering up with them to create franken viruses ?
We won't hit 90% in the US even if we did not have all the political resistance. Maybe 80% is attainable with widespread mandates and that would be enough to limit all the social and economic disruption of rounds of infection. But then there is still the problem of the billions of people in the rest of the world ginning up new variants.
The thousands coming across the southern border of the US aren't helping either.
What does "heard immunity" mean when the vaccinated can spread the disease?
This is obsolete in light of the latest CDC guidance.
It means there is no herd immunity with covid.

Vaccinations slowed to a crawl because those who wanted the vaccine, and wanted it badly, were standing in line, waiting on an appointment for their age group. Basically, everybody who really wanted it have now gotten it. It's basically the same as a learning curve. A few more will get it after long and hard thought. Some will never get it unless they absolutely have to.
I was one of those who applied for an appointment the moment my age group/risk group was allowed to. I still had to wait several week for my appointments.
