Trump said we would pull out by May, 3 months earlier, so wouldn't that make HIM worst president ever?

Biden authorized billions of $$$$$ and tons of guns to "Freedom Fighters" in Afghanistan.
It was in 1981, 40 years ago.
https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/97-1981/s490

He didn't want free education, free healthcare, equal women's rights for Afghans, so he sent "Freedom Fighters" to kill all socialist and progressive politicians.

Of course, there are no moderate Afghan politicians now. They all have been killed.

Too bad you democrats can't seem to understand the same issue here in the US. Keep throwing money at all of these programs in these inner cities, but no matter how much money/welfare you give them, they will never drag themselves out and be nothing but a burden on society and a forever victim!

That right there is about the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. The Taliban is laughing about that right now as they continue to slaughter innocent women and children that get in their way.
Your point being?

Didn’t we go into Afghanistan? Didn’t we kill Afghanis?

Are you really going to miss those women who provide comfort to those Muslim fanatics and give birth to future terrorists?

Please. There are no innocents in a tribal society.

The stupidest thing we ever did was to stay there after we got bin Laden. The Afghanis had twenty years and loads of support and money to get their act together. They just took our money and continued the way of savage tribesmen. Well, the game’s up.

We are done there.

This is rich coming from someone who supports a professional whiner, scammer and grifter. Pff…

You need to update your information. A lot of the “inner cities” have been gentrified. There are many, many welfare scammers in Appalachia and small rural communities.

Finally, put the whataboutism away. It’s easily spotted and ineffective. The OP is about Afghanistan and not about Ronald Reagan’s drumbeat.

We are both in agreement that nation building in Afghanistan is incredibly stupid. Where we disagree is that you think it’s time to cut and run, while I think we should maintain a presence there to continue to take the fight to the extremists.

It’s a guarantee that terrorist training camps will be set up as soon as the Taliban has control. Those cells will try to attack American institutions.

I predict that the same people who want us to leave now, will someday regret that decision after a major bombing occurs in an American city with the planning leading straight back to the Taliban.

Here is a video from Tajikistan, which borders Afghanistan.

Afghanistan was supposed to look similar, but Reagan and Biden didn't want Afghanistan to be a modest socialist country; so they armed the Mujahideen, who later became the Taliban.

Donald Trump started this, Biden is just finishing it.

Last year, Trump announced (despite many top military leaders and advisers telling him not to) that he wanted to pull troops out of Afghanistan. Biden took over as president just as the withdrawal was getting under way.

While I would agree that we've been in Afghanistan for far too long (it'll be 20 years this October), Biden is doing his best with what he was given by Trump.

Neither president is to blame, not Trump nor Biden. Do I feel badly for innocent people in Afghanistan that may come under Taliban rule again? Yes, that sucks. Do I understand the depth, politics, and complex details of the entire situation in Afghanistan? No, I doubt many of us do. But after 20 years of war there, let's bring our boys and girls home.

Trump started it, Biden is finishing it. That's all there is to it.

This will be Biden’s worst legacy to date, worse than forcing landlords to offer free rent to millions of tenants.
