Funny, he was ousted, as he probably should have been. But the people cheering the loudest are the same people who protected people on their "team" from allegations of doing much much worse.
Both sides protect their people.
Kinda why the report on Cuomo was scathing towards a whole bunch of others on his staff for helping hush these up over the years and resulting resignations.
You'll never find deeper hypocrisy than in politics.
Impeaching him prevents him from holding office again. Why wouldn't democrats want to keep someone like him out? If someone does something despicable in your own party, you remove them and make sure they aren't able to hold office again.
Silly leftist, it's the right of the people to decide who gets elected.
It's not the right of the legislature to proactively pick and choose who may run.

What is the name of the fantasy world you live on?
Here in America, the people do not pick who is elected or policy. Look at the effects of gerrymandering, the electoral college and the skewed representation of the Senate towards rural areas.
Look at Bush v Gore how was that decided? By popular vote or did the Supreme Court and an official in Florida decide?
Look at the data on campaign spending and how often the campaign that spends the most wins.

It slants it. Eventually I am hoping our supreme court sets limits on this.

Money works to a point, there are some decent studies on this. Money can move a vote by about 5%. After that as long as the other side has a reasonable amount of funding. But not much more.
Id put us at about 60% of a full democracy sadly. The money, gerrymandering, and propaganda? Hurts us.

There's this thing called the Constitution. You might want to read it.
