Dern tootin shame that some family's are genuinely struggling. And there sits Miss 'Dealing" out the BS to garner funds. I'd sue her for false statements /scamming.
There are many causes I care about. Especially medical treatment related aid. However, this seemed like a bad idea (even if legit) once the amount starting going up so much. Now it is no longer even legit.
When the initial story started with her being glad it was CNN at her door because she was thinking they were the landlord coming to evict her, something didn't sound right. But I doubt anyone took the "These ain't my kids" in the office pool as to what was the fraud.
It appears that the funds are currently on hold, and people are allowed to rescind their donations. Her donations are now down to about 189K. But in looking at the comments on the GoFundMe page there are still people donating knowing that she lied.
In normal circumstances, this person would be arrested for fraud. And the media outlet wouldn't be trying to update and justify the fraud by saying "Well she is like their mother". So I wonder if anything will ever come of this?
