I remember they never said the vaccine would prevent people from getting the virus. They always said it would trigger an immune response making the virus less deadly. Why are people acting like they thought differently?
The major shortcoming of the mRNA and viral-vector vaccines nobody wants to talk about is they only train the immune system to detect and react to the spike proteins. That's why we're seeing new "breakthrough" variants, because it only takes changes in the spike proteins to reduce the vaccine's efficacy. A conventional vaccine like Novavax would probably help since it trains the body not just to recognize the spike protein but the genetic code of the virus itself. It would also help if the vaccines were supplemented by a coherent preventative and therapeutic regimen, and it speaks to the biotechnocracy's utter corruption that any attempt to discuss such matters is promptly quashed.

Or how about from the President of the United States when he emphatically proclaimed at the July 21st Town Hall that, and I quote, "[y]ou’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations"?

I recall 70% inoculated was the magic number for herd immunity to be reached.
Turns out to not be the case.

This is such an incredible window on what's going on here in Central Texas. Scroll down to the graphs, and use the right arrow to go through the various graphs - hospitalizations, ICU, cases, etc. You will see the third spike in COVID represented in hospitalizations, ICU, cases, etc., but when you get to the final graph of "deaths" there is literally no spike. People aren't dying here of COVID the way they did the first two spikes.
So that's really hopeful.
Also, this article notes Gov Abbott's spokesperson has expressed kind of dismay that Austin ISD is requiring masks for all students and employees, but there is no continued threat to fine or otherwise punish them. Dallas will be requiring masks, as probably Houston and San Antonio will also.
Additionally, we have 12 pediatric cases in hospitals, 4 in ICU and 3 on ventilators.
Anyway, hopeful that apparently this spike in COVID is not resulting in deaths.

Over 75% of the UK adult population have now had their second jab.
In contrast mRNA Vaccines use a novel technology that has never been approved for widespread use before the pandemic, and mRNA covid vaccines include those manufactured by Pfizer -BioNTech and Moderna.
This technology uses messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA), which is a molecule that provides cells with genetic instructions for making proteins that are needed for numerous cellular functions in the body, including for energy and immune defence.
In a lab, scientists develop synthetic mRNA that is able to instruct the body’s cells to develop that same distinctive spike protein from the SARS-CoV-2 virus that the viral vector-based vaccines also target.
After the piece of protein is made, the cell breaks down the genetic instructions and gets rid of them. Both Health Canada and the CDC stressed that the mRNA never enters the central part of the cell where a person’s DNA material is located, which means the vaccine does not affect or interact with DNA in any way.
