You don't see how abandoning the Afghanis sends a signal to the world that America will stand by and watch as islamists and despots slaughter the people who want change and the freedom to live their lives?

Hasn't that always been the case? We ran for the exits in Vietnam. We set up the Shiites in Iraq to be slaughtered by Saddam after we left the first Gulf War. We abandoned the Kurds after the second war in Iraq. One time, Obama tried to stop "despots slaughter the people who want change" - in Libya - and you folks ripped him for it.

Better to be upfront about it: America will fight if we think its in our best interest, but beyond that you're on your own.

I agree. Taiwan is in no way like rural Alabama.

Afghanistan gone- Will Taiwan be next?

Sadly Yes, the Chinaman has nukes and Biden will not use ours risking World War 3, his only hope would be economic sanctions

East and West Germany united.
Though, I believe that US forces can't occupy the east part of Germany unlike the west one.

There is no reason why Chinese Taiwan and Chinese China can't unite.

Conservatives should be dancing in the streets.

They are all about isolationism. Get out of everywhere. We left the Paris Climate Agreement. We got out of Trans-Pacific Partnership. We left UNESCO. The US withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal. The US dumped the UN Human Rights Council. The US qut supporting the World Health Organization. Conservatives wanted to build walls around the country. They want to quit buying anything from anyone. Everything must come from the US, especially oil.

Now that the US is out of Afghanistan, you would think they would be ecstatic and clamoring for the US to do the same in every other "s**t hole country" around the world.

Conservatives should be kissing Biden, thanking him for continuing Trump's policies.
