Misery and mayhem have been the core tenets of the Democratic Party since the end of the civil war. The funny thing about US energy independence is that Truman was the first president that was wanted it for US national security.

In just over 200 days, the USA went from Energy Independent to begging the Mid-East, Russia & Iran for Oil. Supposedly, over 80 Million people Voted FOR this.

Yeah, think about how much much damage Biden is going to do.

This is a good way to put it. But the parallels are uncanny:

•inflation ramping up--check.
•being dissed by OPEC--check
•confidence in US military falls off the table--check
•potential hostage crisis w/ radical Muslims--hopefully not check, but it sure looks that way.

Carter indeed was book smart, trained as a nuclear engineer, but he was lacking in common sense. Several of our worst presidents were brilliant academics (James Madison, Woodrow Wilson) but terrible as execs. President Biden lacks both book smarts and common sense.

I disagree. These have been the core tenets of the party since its formation around 1824 by Jackson and Van Buren. Democrats controlled the white house from 1828 (Jackson) to 1856 (Buchannan).

Van Buren invented American machine politics that still controls all the big blue cities today.

The US never was Energy Independent. Dependence on Russian Oil increased under Trump.

https://tradingeconomics.com/united-...oil-production

We are currently producing more oil than we were in 2017 and most of 2018 and more than 2020, although we are below the peak in 2019.

Don't let facts get in the way, though.
