The red states are mostly responsible for the surge. What do they have in common, they legislate against restrictions of any kind whether it be masks or vaccine requirements.
Show me ONE piece of legislation from any of the red states that banned voluntary mask-wearing or voluntary vaccination. Why must these measures be mandatory?
The banned mandatory mask wearing or vaccine requirements, is that supposed to be a serious effort at defending their ban on restrictions.
And that stops people from wearing a mask anyway because.....? Give me ONE good reason why people can't voluntarily wear a mask or get vaccinated. A lot of people in my area of TX are doing so, and it certainly ain't because someone's forcing them to because none of the mask mandates were ever enforced to any material degree.
Provide all material information people need (FULL disclosure is absolutely critical here) to make their decision and let people be adults. Government botched this for a year and a half - I'm not inclined to trust they won't for the next year and a half. That would be the definition of insanity.

Yes, it should have. People are not required to have a reason for refusing medical treatment, no matter how effective. Mandates do nothing but create friction. When you bully people into getting a vaccine that is provisionally approved (remember that it has NOT been fully approved by the FDA), without adequately addressing the concerns of the people who refuse, they're only going to dig in their heels. That's a failure on government's part. Time to try something different that doesn't involve government.

I can see how he wants to hide after massively mishandling Covid, screwing up the border, his disaster in Afghanistan, Iran doubling its nuclear weapons capability, his ending of middle east peace, his policies causing massive inflation.

Yes people can voluntarily wear a mask that is not the point, he banned any requirement that all wear a mask. You don't develop uniform health policy on a voluntary basis, that doesn't help stop the spread of infectious diseases like polio and measles.
This is why a good medical school like University of Texas went to remote learning, no vaccination mandate, no mask requirements.
"Let people be Adults", that is working out real well in Texas and Florida which now have almost as many infections as Brazil and India.

Claiming that the CDC reversed course on mask removal isn't the reason for this surge, it's the unvaccinated.
What they have in common?
Large black and latino populations, along with sizable youth populations. (Majority Democrat voters BTW, seeing how you want to make it political for some reason).
What does that have to do with it?
Biden and Harris told them not to trust any vaccine created under Trump and they listened. Those are the groups least likely to get vaccinated. That is what the science data shows.

Are you even aware Biden is on pace to have more Covid deaths happen in America in one year than Trump did in his one year and that is with Biden having multiple vaccines handed to him on a silver platter.
Think about that! Biden will end up having more Covid deaths on his watch with having multiple vaccines!
