“I don't think we felt threatened that was going to happen, but with this ordinance enforced it will just kind of protect us,” he said. “It just seemed like a logical thing to do because first of all it protects unborn life and I think that's an important thing.”

This ordinance has been contested in other cities when presented, but so far those cities have won challenges each time, making them feel secure in their decision, he said.

This is a complicated issue which will never be resolved unless/until we achieve a universal respect for life.

The pro-abortion position will never be universally accepted, because it's based on selfishness and an unwillingness to take responsibility for your actions. Full support for bad ideas can't be achieved.

Sounds like a lot of little towns that have never had any abortion facilities are banning abortions.

Either that or they are making their Dollar Stores go completely to plastic hangers.

Yeah, they're stealing pages from the Berkely City council where (not joking) small businesses have to sign forms stating they're not involved in Nuclear weapons manufacturing, proliferation etc. and they also have a whaling ban In Berkely.

It's refreshing to know that if I enter a coffee shop there that I will not be confronted by plutonium warhead assmblies nor groups of salty captain ahabs hefting harpoons.

So what? The state has pretty much shut down abortion in Texas. Was there an abortion facility in the town?

We can address the outlier cases once agreement is reached on the overwhelming majority of cases, for which the requisite actions taken to achieve that condition were consensual.

IOW, your straw man is rejected.

Read the article, for God's sake. It's not that long. You both made it clear that you didn't.

You're so convinced that you're right, that you seem to be blinded by your own opinion. You're not even interested in hearing out opposing views.

Folks, imagine believing that YOUR opinion and YOUR personal religious beliefs should be the law of the land for ALL people. That's called arrogance.

If more people could be open-minded and come to the negotiating table with a little intellectual honesty, maybe there would be a way both sides could agree on a very controversial topic like abortion.

And also bonus. No whalers with nuclear tipped harpoons! We dont have that here and last night at the deli we got out sandwiches from. There was a whaler with not just one, but TWO nuclear tipped harpoons!

I will make a WILD guess that Brownsboro TX has exactly zero abortion clinics. The highlight of the town appears to be a Sonic Restaurant.

As time goes on Wise said that he believes he and the council members will be glad that they did this. He said passing the ordinance to ban abortions in Brownsboro its not only a logical thing to do but also heartfelt.
I find it disturbing that the council bases their decisions on their emotions.
Wise also said its the logical thing to do, but did not care to share this logic.
Is it because Brownsboro only has a total population of 1200 and is less than 80 miles to Dallas where all the abortion clinic are and they were having a really really slow month.
