But this "Osama bin Laden" character was just a smoke screen, wasn't it.

It's all business. Who made billions in profits over that 20-year period?

All dried up by now and they find other ventures.

The catastrophic actions of Biden have certainly overshadowed if not thoroughly undermined the positive accomplishments of the US Military in this 20-year and far-away war.

It would be super nice if you'd occasionally bring some facts to the discussion. China is *not* a "similar GDP". It is in fact about 2/3 of ours.

The contributions are based on a formula that is periodically adjusted. It is not based solely on GDP.

"The General Assembly negotiates a scale of assessments for the regular budget every three years based
on a country’s capacity to pay; assessments for the 2019- 2021 time period were adopted in December 2018. The U.S. assessment is currently 22%, the highest of any U.N. member state. The U.S. rate is set by a ceiling that was agreed to in the General Assembly in 2000."

https://www.everycrsreport.com/files...bc053a27a4.pdf

You will note that the US is a voting member of the General Assembly. You will also note that our assessment is capped-under the current agreement it does not exceed 22%, even if our GDP does.

China's proportion of the UN budget is about 12%. The US is 22%.

"The current contributions scale, valid for 2019 to 2021, was adopted by the UN General Assembly in December 2018. The four largest contributors to the United Nations – the US (22% of the UN budget), China (12.005%), Japan (8.564%) and Germany (6.090%) – together finance some 49% of the entire UN budget."

https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/a...%20UN%20budget.

China's proportion of the world economy is about 14.28 trillion as of 2019. The US is about 21.433. The total world is 87.608.

That makes China 16% of the world economy with 12% contribution, and US 24.4% of the world economy-with a 22% contribution.

I assume the way the 2020 reduction in troops has played out was intended and expected.

Speculation on my part the Afghan puppet President was no longer useful to the US. Better optic for the Taliban to help him pack his bag, than the US.
Biden most certainly did not inherit a no win situation.

He inherited a situation where Bagram Airfield had the Taliban hiding in Pakistan.

When Biden shuttered that base back at the beginning of June, the Taliban were now able to come out of hiding without fear of a drone strike and swept through the country in 8 weeks.

This whole surrender is 100% on Biden. Not Trump. Because again, when Trump left office in January, the Taliban were hiding in Pakistan.

What should have we done differently let’s see, NEMO RESIDEO “leave no one behind”. This is a saying that has been used for many years in the military. Funny how Austin forgot this….fire his dumb***.
