This is probably a good time to remind people that see the magic bullet of higher corporate taxes that each time you buy something in the US, even if you don't pay income tax, you're paying the corporate income tax on the purchased product.
It's baked into every corporations pricing\capital return calculations.
P.S. You're also paying for all of those harmless shoplifters some places have stopped prosecuting, the higher insurance costs due to rioting and so on and so forth.

Lots of billionaires don't pay much in federal income tax. I don't think the working or non-working poor are the problem.

That's why a VAT is the most fair tax. Everyone pays according what they buy. Bezos presumably had no taxable income those years. I bet he still bought a lot of things.
