NEWBERG, Or. – The Board of the Newberg Public Schools in a 4-3 vote last week will take action to ban display of any variant of the LGBTQ Pride flag and additionally will ban display of any flag associated with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.
will enact the ban on those flags, and any broadly “political” signs, clothing and other items
I think it is this news source, not the school board, who may have been selective in their message. It says it's any "political" message. I'm hesitant to limit any speech, but in the interest of keeping the peace and civility and NOT having to make judgment calls about questionable causes, I can see where some might legitimately argue for such bans in school as part of a dress code.

Something tells me that if a trump sign or blue lives matter flag was displayed instead, they wouldn't be banning the flags.
Those would fall under any broadly “political” signs, clothing and other items, which is actual wording of the policy, so yes they would also be banned.

Flags like that are divisive and have no place near schools or for that matter on government property. If someone wants to fly them at home, or on their cars fine.
What amazes me is how a group like blm can get away with being racist, anti-American, and admitted marxists wanting to undo America, and the media and others just ignore their evil intentions.
You can bet if a white racist group attempted the same thing on a tiny scale, it would be condemned immediately (as it should). But somehow BLM is allowed to get away with it.
Sometimes school have taken a real hard line on things like hats and shirts with logos on them, all because it became so distracting and controversial that it was upstaging any actual learning. This is just another one of those times, and it's about time too. This stuff should be left outside so schools can function the way they are supposed to.

The truth of the matter is we all know this isnt true, these policies never get enforced that ways.
They would argue that the president himself isnt political because he is elected, and Blue Lives Matters is support for a job, or maybe they wouldnt even care to make those arguments and tell people tough luck.
