You know what ? Let France do this and let Americans boycott them and stop visiting and see how much money they loose .As far as Im concerned Paris and most of France is over rated and been done to death . Time to boycott and see how much they really want to enforce the vaccine issue . When they are on the loosing end of income I bet they will change their tune .

The OP is talking about blocking people out of an essential service based on vaccination status, when the vaccine doesn't even stop people from spreading the virus. It's purely punitive. Not everyone can get groceries delivered. People sometimes need to run to the store for an essential item that they must have in the moment. If true, this is barbaric.

You do realize that grocery store employees have been coming down with Covid since this started and they never closed, right?

I have family in the grocery business. Now that many are vaccinated it's still happening. In fact in some ways it's worse. They are not requiring the vaccinated to quarantine. Makes no sense as recent studies show that with Delta the viral load can be the same in the vaxxed and unvaxxed.

Because the science doesn't matter. They want shots in arms no matter what. I can't seem to figure out why. Either Covid is incredibly dangerous (apocalyptic level) and they leveling with us or there's so much financial gain that it's worth selling out for it.

Does the vax stop the spread? No? So what shots in arms.
Does the vax give you immunity? No? So what shots in arms.

This is the state using it's guns to override bodily autonomy and consent.

Myopic people think this stops here and that they will always be on the right side of the coercion. Wrong!
You are giving the government power to coerce you into ANYTHING as long as some externality/greater good can be used for backup.

Mark of the beast? Seriously? In other news, Alabama is completely out of ICU beds and Texas and Florida aren’t far behind.

AIDs was once considered to be the pandemic to kill tens of millions. Business owners were instilled with the fear that an HIV-positive employee may risk infection to other employees. In addition, business owners would lose their businesses if they employed an HIV-positive person and it became known to the public.

But it was their right to implement their own policies, correct?

Except in a few extremely rare circumstances, it is against the law for someone to fire you for being HIV-positive or to ask you if you’re HIV-positive during the hiring process
Very good comparison.

I will wait eagerly for someone to try and counter your point.

They have a maniacal focus on Covid--over and above every other consideration. Because of the normalization of fear, people think there is no other way. I just had a conversation with a neighbor who is convinced we will NEVER go back to normal. The fact is, it will be rough going. But we will deal with it while also preserving basic human rights, or we won't have a country left when this is over. Are people naive enough to think they will get their freedoms back? If we've devolved to allowing vaccine passports, government will just give up that kind of power?

I'm still astounded that with all the fear about dying of Covid, it hasn't motivated people to lose weight and exercise. Both of those things can reduce your chances of ending up in the hospital. But people seem more comfortable having the government lock them in their homes and coerce injections that provide protection for a limited time.

Preventing people from getting food at stores will help...how? Many of these people have masks on, so presumably they will wear them while buying their groceries, if they have them on while trying to get in. And the vaccinated shoppers can still transmit the virus.

Also, Oregon has called in the National Guard. Hawaii and Washington are seeing surges. Washington state is at an all time high for hospitalizations. The small hospital system on Martha's Vineyard is overcrowded and telling people don't come in unless it's really serious. People only focus on red states.
