Anyone who thinks that the Taliban are going to let American just leave needs to quit drinking their bathwater. That was never going to happen. They have enough Americans at their disposal to demand billions in ransom money but still satisfy the Prophet by soaking the ground with blood. I'm willing to bet that they segregate the men and women, rape torture and murder them and use the men for their ransom demands. Women are worthless lower forms of life to the Taliban and those American women trapped there are an offense to their pig fornicating Prophet.
I'm feeling a rage building within me accompanied by a seething hatred such as I have never felt before. And it's all directed at the Taliban. Minus a chunk of the rage I direct at Democrats in DC and the bleating sheep who put them there. Our people, my fellow citizens, in Afghanistan have been tossed into a rattlesnake den. All of them but especially the women are going to suffer in unspeakable ways because of those people and yeah, that does a LOT more than just pi$$ me off.
And these mindless drones that still sit there and play the same excuses over and over to defend the current executive and legislative powers that hold such a slim majority in DC is like pouring vinegar mixed with salt and alcohol into an open wound topped off with a feeling of nausea induced by drinking dish soap. All we hear from those varmints is but but but TRUMP or links referring us to obscure left wing extremist media articles that just spew the same but but but TRUMP rancid vomit. I've been needing to keep an emesis bag close at hand to my computer nook. The bathroom is too far away.
I would go to the archery range and work some of this rage and frustration out picturing Taliban and leftist neo Dem wackos faces on targets but the smoke from the fires is so bad even going outside to take out the trash requires supplied air. Never before can I recall feeling the level of rage and black seething naked hatred I am feeling right now. Never...
I REALLY THINK SOMETHING BIG SHOULD START,I CANT TAKE THIS **** ANYMORE!!!
Stupid attitudish people, meanness from alot of people,etc........
I think something big needs to happen also. Evidently it's going to take something big to happen before we can get rid of Biden. I would think what's happening now is pretty danged big but evidently not. He keeps this smug attitude about him that I just want to slap off. Maybe send him to Afshanistan now to try and work a deal with the Taliban. They can sit and have a meeting together.
They should have told the military years ago to roll it up and go home --- shoot 'em if they try to follow.
You know since 2001 and we got into this mess, people said we shouldn't have. President both Bush and Obama would set withdrawal dates and something would happen and they couldn't do a follow through --- people expressed disappointment. Biden stuck to it with a no matter what attitude and now people are p? I don't get it.
There are a lot of people telling you why people are p.
I'm sorry you don't get it.
I thought Joe assured us that the Taliban hasn't killed anybody. Is he out and out lying, or is he operating with such a shrunken brain that he can't tell truth from fiction?
Jill took Joe's remote so that he can't watch anything but "Matlock". He has no clue what's going on unless someone tells him.
From what I was able to read before the pay wall popped up and what you quoted above, the NYT didn't say Taliban was confiscating US passports, which is what Breitbart said.
If you would actually read the Breitbart article, and not immediately dismiss it, you would find all the links to the bigger sources.
From the “New York Post”:
“In the latest blow to those running up against the clock, Afghan-Americans on Thursday said that Taliban fighters are now attempting to take their U.S. passports and identification orders in an attempt to stop them from leaving the country.
I got to the gates and was about to show my passport, but the Taliban got it, and he said you are not allowed to go through and wouldn’t give it back,” one Afghan-American, who served for several years as an interpreter during the war and has his home in the U.S but requested anonymity for safety reasons, said. “I was lucky a U.S. marine was right there and forced him to give it back.”
(Snip)
“U.S. passports, driver’s licenses — they are confiscating those pieces of documentation from American citizens,” said Ephraim Mattos, a former Navy SEAL and founder of the humanitarian organization, Stronghold Rescue and Relief, which is working around the clock to evacuate Afghans interpreters and helpers. “They lose proof of who they are, and this has happened on multiple occasions in multiple places.”
President Joe Biden on Friday said they “know of no circumstance where American citizens are carrying an American passport” and not able to reach the airport.“

This from the NYPost yesterday:
Quote:
“U.S. passports, driver’s licenses — they are confiscating those pieces of documentation from American citizens,” said Ephraim Mattos, a former Navy SEAL and founder of the humanitarian organization, Stronghold Rescue and Relief, which is working around the clock to evacuate Afghans interpreters and helpers. “They lose proof of who they are, and this has happened on multiple occasions in multiple places.”
I'm not generally fond of the NYPost, but this report appears legitimate to me. Clearly, contrary to Taliban "assurances," there is no safe passage and these confiscations have been happening almost from the beginning.
Two or three days ago, Clarissa Ward from CNN, on the ground in Kabul wearing full chador with Taliban telling her to cover her face, said it was risky to show your papers to Taliban b/c they might be confiscated. So, confiscation has been known to be occurring from the beginning.
A nightmare which will only get worse.

We invaded Afghanistan in 2001 to crush the Taliban and negotiated a complete withdrawal with the Taliban in 2019-20. It also included the release of 5000 Taliban fighters from Afghan prisons.
Hell froze over and there was consensus between Trump and Biden to exit.
There were 2500 US troops left as of 2020 year end. The 5000 Taliban fighters were released per the US - Taliban agreement. What could go wrong?
Quitting Vietnam was ugly and tough. No diff Afghanistan.
Pentagon officials said airport gates had been temporarily closed but were open intermittently to allow Americans with proper credentials to enter. While the Taliban control Kabul and the area around the airport up to the entry gates, American and British troops control direct access through the gates.
Maj. Gen. William Taylor of the Pentagon’s Joint Staff told reporters on Saturday that military commanders at the airport were “metering” the flow of Americans, Afghan allies and other foreigners with proper credentials to ensure everyone was thoroughly screened and vetted.
General Taylor said that in the past 24 hours, 3,800 passengers, roughly half of them Americans, had been flown out
