American has no more right to poke fun of and make jokes regarding France and its ability to fight wars.
France has often been the butt of jokes made by Americans because there is a this perceived notion France surrenders too easily, or because they have losing record according to America.
Well now America is in that same category. We lost in Nam. We lost in AStan. Korean War stalemated. Well actually, America was winning until the Chinese came, and pushed America back. Maybe that should count as a loss. As for Iraq, I am not sure what we won, or gained.
The French have been notoriously weak, except during the French Revolution. However, they look MUCH better in Afghanistan than we do, in terms of getting their own people out AND ours.
What a clueless topic. The U.S.A never surrendered our homeland to anybody, France has. Our Military never lost in Vietnam or Korea. It was political. If it wasn't for the U.S.A., France would be speaking German and then Russian.
The U.S. won WW 1, WW 2 and the Cold War and the only Super Power standing. Our military can make any country into a parking lot. Don't confuse our military to the politics. 2 different things. You will never see a Chinese or Russian tank rolling down Flatbush avenue or Americans bending the knee on their homeland to foreigners. France has. See the difference.

Our military didn't lost, the politicians did, believe me if our military could make a decision without politics involve we'd have the Taliban running back to their caves. Old stupid Joe fell hard on his face and made everyone look bad.
Ge educated on the topic before making comments here.
and yes Mexico beat France with only pots and pans. lol
France surrendered to the Nazis and bent the knee to them in their own soil. That's humiliating for history. We just make parking lots and when our politicians get tired, we leave their country with nice souvenirs for them to remember us for a long time.
That's like China invading the U.S.A.,surrendering to them and bending the knee to them while their troops occupy our country, eat our food, drink our wine and sleep with our women and then begging France to save us. Americans will never let that happen. We will mop the floor with anyone.

We never surrendered to anyone. We won every single battle that we fought.
America is just very bad at picking which country to nation build, and we are not good at nation building to begin with.

We won the Cold War.
France has a long losing streak going back to Napoleon and has become far less important globally.

There are some very poignant memorials in Korea, including the Gloucester Valley Battle Memorial near Gloster Hill.
The 1st Battalion, the Gloucestershire Regiment (the Glorious Glosters) was nearly wiped out, along with thr 170th Mortar Battery, Royal Artillery, during the Battle of the Imjin River in 1951, when they became cut off from other units and had to fight off a Chinese Division.
America doesn’t lose wars, we just decide to tuck tail and run.
We could’ve “won” Vietnam, Korea, and Afghanistan by staying there forever but we just decide to bail and go home over liberal political pressure. (Obviously we’re still in Korea).
But make no mistake, we are still “occupying” plenty of combat zones like Iraq, Syria, Niger, and Kuwait.
