Is anyone surprised?

I'm surprised no one told him that as the Commander in Chief he should be saluting these fallen heroes of ours as they travel to their final resting place. He should know this, I'm sure he salutes our military every time he goes aboard Air Force One.

And then he thinks it is an appropriate time to check his watch apparently...I'm not surprised...I also won't be surprised when the left does their very best to defend him.

Trump Saluting

Obama Saluting

Biden...

I bet Biden was just checking to see when he could go back on vacay and get naps and ice cream snacks.

Democrats lost their mind in 1992 when Bush Senior checked his watch in the presidential debate.

We'll see if they care about this bigger insult.

I saw that. He is an appalling, disrespectful, a-hole.
Unbelievable.

He's not required to salute.

And don't go posting trump like he's not a sack of poop. He went four times and lied that he attended them more often.

Can Civilians Salute Soldiers?

Saluting soldiers is not a recommended way to honor current or former members of the Armed Forces.

Even members of the Armed Forces do not salute when out of uniform. A salute is part of the official protocols that active soldiers follow. Outside official duties, the military salute is rarely displayed.

Civilians should face the flag and place their right hand over their heart during the National Anthem. Saluting the flag is a gesture reserved for the military.

While civilians can salute soldiers, many veterans consider it inappropriate or awkward.

Bidens are civilians. They observed the correct protocol by placing their hands over their hearts.

Why does Biden salute the military as he boards Air Force One? Why have previous presidents saluted our fallen heroes? Could it be that while it is not formally written into the rules it is considered a sign of respect for the Commander in Chief to salute those who have paid the ultimate price for their country?

Did you read the above?

Many veterans are OFFENDED when a civilian chooses to salute.
The last thing Biden needs to do today with 13 dead is offend another veteran.

Because this is the most solemn of occasions, Bidens chose to honor protocol to the letter.

We can be sure, had he saluted, eventually someone would have quoted what I did and call it inappropriate and ignorant.

Strictly speaking, Biden should not be saluting anyone. He is a civilian. As are Obama, Trump and Melania. All of them are in civilians. None of them should have been saluting - ever.

Btw, is/was anyone on this thread currently yammering at Biden for disrespect now or at one time a member of the military?? Thought not.

I’m seeing one of my friends who is a veteran of the Afghanistan war, I’ll ask him tonight.
