Exactly and so many people just can’t accept thisor consider it to be a possibility. Truly unreal!
A friend of mine is just recently recovering from Covid. She wasn’t vaccinated.
She said when she went to the urgent care, the nurses and doctor there told her the increase in cases is due to the vaccinated people spreading it…that they aren’t aware they even have it and that’s why it’s exploding now.
Makes sense to me especially considering the cases were so low last summer with no vaccine.
That throws the whole "herd immunity" fairytale right out the window now, doesn't it?
However, it's not "the vaccine" causing the spread.
COVID is just more virulent now than before.
The unvaccinated spread it more and suffer more, but in areas where most people are already vaccinated the only manifestation can be from the vaccinated. That means an unvaccinated person in a world full of vaccinated people is still not safe, and the children are still not safe.
Vaccinated people can spread Delta among themselves, each getting a sniffle or a sneeze, maybe a headache or whatever. But when it hits a vulnerable unvaccinated adult in the middle of the 'herd' it could go into a full blown crises, possibly intubation and possibly great harm or even death.
Make no mistake about it: in those areas where thirty percent of the people are unvaccinated that is where most of the spread is coming from. The vaccinated adults can only increase the number by a comparatively smaller percentage.
Yet, this Delta variant is certainly virulent, and does spread by both the vaccinated and the unvaccinated before the symptoms show up (the initial symptoms are actually evidence of the immune system working, and a vaccinated person should display some symptoms more quickly than an unvaccinated person would). That is why large gatherings are not a good idea where most of the participants are probably not vaccinated, those folks can quickly be infected.
Word to the wise: after gathering in larger groups like rallies or whatever, take a shower and wash your clothes, including that baseball cap.
Not a comment on the content of your post. I just wanted to note that virulent refers to how severe the symptoms of a disease are, not how easily it spreads. For example, the delta variant appears to be far more infectious than the alpha strain or even the beta (British) variant, but it doesn’t appear to be more virulent. Or the delta variant of COVID-19 is far more infectious than the Ebola virus, but thankfully it is less virulent.

before reading, Delta appeared in India before the vaccines were available. Ergo, the vaccines didn't create Delta.
Oh, FFS. Break-through infections happen at a much lower incident rate than infections in vaccinated people.
Now prepare to have your mind blown: The higher the vaccination rate, the higher the proportion of breakthrough infections and of hospitalizations of vaccinated people. Because that'll be the next talking point.
But there is no dispute that the unvaccinated are dying at much much higher rates and that the unvaccinated account for over 90% of those hospitalized with serious Covid.
