Cities have no business micro-managing a company to the extent that they can mandate breaks. On average 38 people A YEAR died from heat related causes according to the NPR report. That is half the number of be sting deaths per year; 1/10th the number of ladder fall deaths per year and 1/100th of the number of drowning.

Let's ban bees, ladders and swimming pools before we micro-manage business.

Local labor laws that require water breaks are not fascist. Sorry, you lose.

One break for water every four hours is not micro-managing.

It's just plain common sense and good stewardship.

I guess my question is if city-level requirements are so detrimental to business, why doesn't the state just let businesses do the talking and leave the city? Politicians who claim to be for more local control turning around and micromanaging micromanagers suggests they don't believe what they tout.

It has nothing to do with climate change, the heat index in Austin is in the 100-110 range all summer long which is insane to be outside working in. Does the elimination of those comments change the substance of the proposed law? Sounds like you were distracted and manipulated. Or do you support the law?

But states should?

So you don't favor states rights either? Odd.

I haven’t given the matter much thought to be perfectly honest.

As it turns out I didn’t need to, because here you are answering for me! Lucky me.
