He made the vast majority of it after he left civil service on 2017, most of it on book deals. Those tax filings are public record. He, unlike another recent President, has never attempted to obscure where his money came from-or what his actual net worth is.
I suppose you have no problem with politicians capitalizing obscene profits from public service.

Trump withdrew troops down to the thousands. He was the one who gave the Talian what they wanted.

Trump was the least corrupt Administration in history. Investigate, and impeach over and over again and it blew up in the Dems faces. The Dems don't realize this, but you don't mess with Gods chosen President.

As idyllic as it sounds to have a truly independent businessman at the helm, it would be an exercise in futility. Even if he wins the White House, he would be twiddling his thumbs for 4 years or just waiting to sign or veto whatever congress gives him. If he shuns the major parties, I can't see much effort to cooperate from their end.
