Berlin to vote on seizing rental properties

https://www.ft.com/content/ad96da11-...9-05718aac47a5

In Berlin Germany, they are actually going to vote on whether the city government should steal rental properties to allow residents to live in them for free.

So rather than move to a more affordable area, these city hipsters want to stay in the trendy, expensive areas, and they want the city government to do the dirty work for them by stealing rental properties so they can live in them for free or at a much reduced price.

If you want the government to steal for you, then you're no different than a thief.

You have to look no further than New York City public housing to see what a mess it actually is because a lot of the buildings are poorly maintained. Government isn’t always the answer people

It’s private housing as well. When you get a tenant in they can immediately stop paying rent and live in your property rent free for 6, 8 months or a year.

Coming to an American city near you.............

Which one will it be first? New York City, San Francisco, or Chicago? I'd even accept Portland or Seattle....

The video requires you to spend 13 minutes. And the article requires a subscription. Can you give a bit more information?

I watched only the beginning of the video it has to do with big corporations renting out apartments as airbnb?
