Delta is a self-insurer and they say covid hospitalizations are hurting their bottom line. They pay $50,000 average hospital costs for covid. So they have decided to make the refuseniks pay their freight. Not only that, but Delta will make any unvaxxed use their sick time for covid while paying vaxxed for the time off. We have this sort of thing already for smokers, so it makes sense and $200 per month should lead to a change of heart with many employees making the airline a safer place for everyone to travel.

What happens if a vaccinated person catches covid ? Do they they have to pay the extra premium ?

Nothing like being slowly segregated and treated like you should have no part in society or pay dearly for it.
This is Jim Crow for the unvaccinated.

Can't wait until they figure out how much a pregnant employee costs them. I'm sure they'll react accordingly. How about transgender? How about those with a heart unfriendly diet/lifestyle?

If that's their mentality, why not charge fat passengers more and give thin passengers especially those without luggage, a discount? Fat people are fat by choice. They ate. Every pound came from food. You cannot get fat without eating.

None of those things are contagious. It`s been over a year and a half and by now we all should know what it means to be Contagious and Asymptomatic.

That's irrelevant, Delta is claiming an exceptional financial impact for their actions. It even specifically mentions that they are using their "smoker" policy as a precedent, last I saw, smoking was not "contagious". This is not a "health" issue, it's a bottom line plus a heavy dose of politics issue. Delta has segregated "acceptable" high expense behaviours from "unacceptable". Their right of course, but lets not beat around the bush.
