I know the discrimination. My office and plan did not want to take on my wife, as her risks would have doubled everyone's premiums!
That is horrible. A way to make someone feel guilty, or worse a "burden" just for being sick. The very reason we have insurance.
It's pretty easy to see from reading this thread how we got here. These were long standing issues pre-Covid.
There is skepticism or even flat out mistrust for all of these institutions. Some Dr.'s, Pharma and insurance companies have given all reason to think twice. These conclusions came from years of life experience - the most powerful influencer of all.
No shortage of people are unable to distinguish among all the viruses. Limbaugh was among the first media personality to publicly equate Covid with the common cold- both of which are caused by a virus, albeit very different viruses. Trump gave him the medal of freedom.
No shortage of media and politicians politicized and fund raised off Covid and at extremes ranging from a nothing burger to we are doomed. Had 2020 not been an election year, it might have played out differently.
The govt and media have made lots of money and gained tons of control due to Covid.
I am pretty sure neither really want Covid to ever end. Why would they?

A few days ago someone posted; pick your poison, the vaccine or covid and hope you survive it.
I'm in my 60's, go to the store very rarely with N95, gloves, etc, have food delivered, no company, etc, I feel I can somewhat control if I get covid or not, but I can't control what the mRNA will do to my system
Four of my neighbors have had covid, but they never wear masks, were outside hugging each other not maintaining social distance, etc., I predicted they would get covid. Three of them needed to be hospitalized, but they seem all ok now, but who knows if they will get long covid or not. I will wait until a safer vaccine comes along or the anti-viral pill Biden promised will be available next year.
Most of the people my age that I know are isolating themselves, vaccinated or not. With all the illegals, refugees, etc. being allowed in the U.S. now, I feel safer staying in anyway. How many will have disease, be driving with no license, committing crimes, etc?
I worked in big pharma for a decade and my job was basically to monitor our corruption. I know exactly how the game is played between the Government and the people.
Im not vaccinated because I simply understand the data behind it and know im not a at risk person. I would much rather get Covid then have an issue a decade down the road from an experimental vaccine.

Not really. I don't really even go to doctors much, I have insurance I just don't like doctors or hospitals. I was "diagnosed" as having duverticulitis, figured well that sucks stomach constantly hurt no matter what I drank or ate, 6 months later it got so bad went to local regular doctor she said no you don't have that you just have severe case of acid reflux and gave me medication I take everyday to keep it at bay. Doctors are NOT gods, or psychic and MANY if not most are PAID to push certain medications, vaccines etc.
We docs are not generally paid. There are some more well known specialists that do get paid to present at lectures to docs. But the audience is always full of skeptics. And there are a few specialists that do milk the system. I know a handful of the first group, and one of the second.
I know of no doc getting paid to support the vaccines, since we all already do that. There are some medical offices that do get paid to give the vaccines. But it is not any great money maker. Medicare pays $40. The patient has to check in. Medical info has to be found and reviewed. Vital signs taken. The shot given and then wait for 15 minutes of observation while all this if officially recorded into the EMR.
Throw in existing issues on vaxxes, misprescribing, over prescribing drugs etc many who have had these experiences or directly know someone who has they won't be the obedient ideal patient many doctors desire.
This is true. And the same people who proclaim people have a 'duty' to get the vaccine to protect others when the primary purpose of a vaccine has always been, is, always will be to protect the vaccinated. And people who demand that other people explain their choices to them. Look mate, you are NOT entitled to an explanation for other people's medical choices, nor are you entitled to even know them. People just need to mind their own business.
