Agent Orange is no argument.

Quote:
  • Trump claimed that records requested by the House committee investigating the Capitol riot are protected.
  • It's up to the Biden administration to determine whether executive privilege protects the records.
  • The select committee issued sweeping requests targeting former White House officials and key Trump allies.

Former President Donald Trump claimed on Wednesday that documents and communications relating to the January 6 attack on the Capitol are protected by executive privilege, even though it's up to President Joe Biden's administration to make that assertion.

"Executive privilege will be defended, not just on behalf of my Administration and the Patriots who worked beside me, but on behalf of the Office of the President of the United States and the future of our Nation," Trump said in a Wednesday statement. He also labeled the committee a "partisan sham" and a waste of money.

The Justice Department told former officials in May that they are allowed to give "unrestricted testimony" to the various congressional committees investigating the events of January 6 and Trump's efforts to use the DOJ to overturn the results of the election. The administration has yet to make a determination about whether the investigators should have similar access to White House records.

The FBI says there's no evidence President Trump or his people organized any violence. Why is a House investigation needed?

Nobody cares about a disruptive mob event that occurred over 6 months ago.

Focus your efforts on something more relevant, like how many people joe biden killled today.

I would say to deflect from Biden’s fiasco in Afghanistan.

They need a distraction for the mid-term elections.

Not important right now. We have a catastrophe in Afghanistan, due to Biden.

Trump throws tantrum as Jan. 6 committee seeks key info

Donald Trump tends to throw some kind of tantrum on a nearly daily basis, and yesterday was no exception. But the former president's latest outrage stood out for a reason.

But they're also demanding records related to:
  • "Planning by the White House and others for legal or other strategies to delay, halt, or otherwise impede the electoral count";
  • "Any documents and communications relating to instructions to stop or delay preparation for the transition of administrations";
  • "Communications discussing the recognition of Joseph Biden as the winner of the 2020 Presidential election";
  • "All documents and communications concerning the potential invocation of the Insurrection Act";
  • "From November 3, 2020, through January 20, 2021, all documents and communications related to martial law";
  • "All documents and communications concerning the use of Federal law enforcement or military personnel during voting in the 2020 Presidential election."....

Could be investigating if they exacerbated it. Planning is a small part of it.

Certainly there was a failure of leadership in DC that day for it to end how it did, and that should be investigated.
