Taking money from people who did nothing to harm other people, solely on the basis that the people have the same skin color as people who did mean things 150 years ago, will not fix the generational problems in this country. It will only breed resentment.

It's still flatly racist. But not being done by government, for once.
Apparently I will not be getting these grants or other benefits, because my skin is the wrong color.

That's racist to the core.

The only people who seem to think it's really necessary put people into separate hyphenated groups according to their ethnicity are White Liberals.
Conservatives treat everyone like a bag of M&Ms. It doesn't matter what color they are. They taste the same.

Did they only take money from one group of people?

Hang on to your wallet if you can.

Back in 2020, the woke CA Legislature and Nutty Newsom signed AB3121 for a study on how to make reparation payments to blacks. So, we may all get to chip in for that one - oh goody!

And if anyone is thinking of moving here to San Diego with a family - don't. SD Unified and Poway Unified have full woke Critical Race Theory curriculums.

Before she left San Diego, Former SD Unified Superintendent, Cindy Marten (now US Deputy Education Secretary), hired in Bettina Love of the Abolitionist Teaching Network(CRT proponents) for a forced seminar to San Diego Teachers to get them to admit to their evil white ways, spirit killing of brown/black kids, and more.

Cindy was also complicit in the fake 'mistake' of including references to the ATN website in the Education Department document to US school districts on how to safely open schools for the fall.

But, that story broke on Nat'l news and the Ed Dept got called out for that and their lame excuse was "oops".

I'd make dmn sure that whatever SD school I put my kids in hasn't gone woke with CRT brainwashing.

I'm so lucky my kids got out years ago.

According to the article the program is a foundation started by non-profits.

I am actually very much in favor of this. And its good to see an actual useful, good idea after all of the bad, useless ideas black leaders have been pushing lately, like CRT and reparations.

from the article:

" Three San Diego nonprofits have launched California’s first grant-based homebuying assistance program specifically for Black people using $1.25 million in seed money that participants hope will attract additional contributions......The goal is to help shrink the racial wealth gap in San Diego County, where studies show 65 percent of Whites are homeowners compared to 31 percent of Blacks."

Black home ownership is lower due in part to routine, multi-generational discrimination and redlining. So having a foundation that focuses specifically on providing a boost this group is justified. It also is beneficial to the larger society. As are programs that target minority business growth.

The right-wingers posting here may think they see something that they ought to dislike. But politically, it is actually better long-term for conservatives and counter to the interests of the socialist far left. A fact which i'm sure some repub strategist somewhere understands. Which is why should Larry Elder become Cali's next Governor, he wont do anything to obstruct this or other similar uplift programs.
