I’ve heard this from several companies. Isn’t it counterproductive? This is happening especially with warehouse employees.

I feel bad for warehouse workers. Typically low skilled laborers who are constantly getting drug tested because "muh forklifts" and now getting pressured into getting vaccines, all for typically low pay.

If more and more companies mandate it though people might just comply out of fear of not finding another job that doesn’t mandate it. Or a company that will end up mandating it later.

Or a warehouse that doesn't drug test or require vaccines will have their pick of all the best warehouse workers in the land.

Yes.

Without employees servicing paying customers, you'll no longer have a company. Without a company, you'll no longer have a workforce.
