It probably would have stayed that way if the left didn't promote abortion so actively and encourage people to "shout their abortion" or light up the ESB pink to celebrate abortion availability for personal choice up to birth.

These laws are a response to the that "progressive" behaviour.

Don't do it.

Have the baby, then offer it up for adoption if you don't want to keep it.

The only exception is if the life (not just the health) of the mother is in significant danger.

ANY pregnancy can affect the health of the mother, and makes far too easy an excuse.

Rape/incest? Horrible. But you can't be un-raped, its trauma will stay with you for the rest of your life, whether you decide to kill the baby or not. Abortion is NOT a "solution" to rape. And the rape was not the baby's fault. See 2nd and 3rd lines above.

Go though that then come back here and talk to us... OH wait... you must be a male...

Nope, not until a man has to go through what a female does, from monthly periods to full term pregnancy.

Let one man go through that that, then we'll talk.

Simplistic version…First trimester for elective abortions. At doctor’s and mother’s discretion together for later terminations for medical reasons. And we educate people, make birth control more available. And then make choosing life less frightening with universal healthcare and more paid parental leave. Like all other first world countries.

Every state should make this decision. If Texas says 6 weeks, so be it. If you live in Texas you can move, or change politicians, and get it changed to some other # of weeks.

Just keep the Federal Government out of it.

Ok, you totally lost the thread there.
The discussion I was participating in was noting that neither an individual sperm nor an individual egg will create a child. It takes both halves.

Maybe in math form. Man + Woman (sperm + egg) = baby.

Without both components you could make a clone, but not a new original human.

The fact you blame men for females menstrual cycle is irrelevant to the conversation.

Please try to keep up.

Men who give birth? Well I have good news for you. The future is now! Unless you're a transphobe?

Yes there was a time when people were more responsible about sex because of the consequences. The statistics are out there for all to see. Compare the rates of unwanted pregnancies 60 years ago to today. Compare out of wedlock birth rates.

2/3 of Americans believe abortion should be legal, but have restrictions. As of right now, there are virtually no restrictions on abortion. Casey barely moved the needle.

And how about "Texas has a bunch of people who love children and hate seeing them killed".

No it was NOT like that after Roe. Virtually all state laws were swept away by Roe. In the 50 years since states have tried to reassert their Constitutional rights.

Seriously? You think it is hard to get condoms? You think every boy and girl from about 12 years old on don't know how babies are made and how to prevent it?
