Jucinda recently demanded the Taliban be nice to women, Jacinda Ardern has issued a blunt message that she would be tough on the Taliban.

The Taliban must be shaking in their shoes at Jacinda.

I hope she doesn't forget to add through all those crocodile tears, that diversity is out strength.

She was re-elected by 49% of New Zealand voters, a landslide victory under the current voting system.

Presumably the people who voted for her support her policies and values.

It's a weak nation that uses a mixed-member proportional representation (MMP) system rather than first past the post.

If New Zealand wants to cower down to China or become a liability to the west then that's up to them.

Sad that some people died, still diversity is their strength and as previously pointed out Jacinda's first concern IS for the NZ Muslim population.

"Analysis: Country has confirmed itself the weak link in the intelligence chain it joined with the US, UK, Canada and Australia".

New Zealand’s stance on China has deep implications for the Five Eyes alliance - The Guardian (2021)

New Zealand faces the prospect of expulsion from the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, according to the Daily Telegraph's defence editor, Con Coughlin, who says Jacinda Ardern has a preference for "cosying up to China's communist rulers". He refers to Ardern as New Zealand's "tiresomely woke Prime Minister".

Coughlin said that attempts by other Five Eyes countries, Britain, the United States, Canada and Australia, to present a united front against Beijing have been thwarted by the New Zealand Government's preference for maintaining cordial ties with Beijing.

"Thanks to Wellington's naïve decision to prioritise trade with China over its membership of the elite Five Eyes intelligence-sharing network, Ms Ardern can expect her country's isolation to deepen further as New Zealand faces the very real prospect of expulsion from the alliance over its pro-Beijing stance."

Coughlin made the comments in an opinion piece in response to statement this week by Foreign Minister Nanaia Mahuta in response to questions from reporters in Wellington.

If New Zealanders are happy with either been excluded from a lot of intelligence or even total expulsion from five eyes and other western intelligence then so be it, it'a New Zealand own problem.

As for the constant crying and woke politics, it's wearing a bit thin, and even Australia now has a strained relationship with New Zealand.

Perhaps Jacinda can make the country even more safe and inclusive by taking tens of thousands of Afghan refugees, at the same as even the EU is paying for Pakistan and other Muslim countries in the Afghanistan region to take them instead.

The truth is Jacinda even makes the EU look right wing, however if this is what New Zealand wants then so be it, however I don't have to support is and I am free to criticise New Zealand and Jacinda Ardern, a pathetic leader of an increasingly pathetic nation.

If she really wants to prevent backlash against the Muslim community in her country, she needs to address the very real concern of all New Zealanders about not just this particular horrific incident, but the cracks in the legal system that allows attacks such as this to occur - and potentially reoccur.

This guy was under tight surveillance after being identified as a very real terrorist threat, yet they were unable to prevent him from carrying out an attack until he was actually is in the process of committing it. So they followed into the store, yet even with their fast reaction time after he starting attacking innocent shoppers with a knife, could not prevent numerous people from being critically injured by this known ISiS supporter.

How do they plan on preventing future attacks such as this? Or do they plan on just accepting an X number of casualties (as long as it’s not to them or their loved ones) of terrorist attacks as being acceptable?

Police in New Zealand fatally shot a Sri Lankan man who was a “known security threat” after he stabbed six people inside an Auckland grocery store on Friday afternoon. The man, who has not been named, had been under police surveillance and was a “supporter of ISIS ideology,” according to New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

“This afternoon at approximately 2:40 p.m., a violent extremist undertook a terrorist attack,” Ardern confirmed to reporters. “This was a violent attack, it was senseless, and I am so sorry it happened.”

Killing an ISIS leader does not kill the ideology.

As it related to this incident, the guy was a Sri- Lakan national who had resided in NZ for 10 years. He had been under surveillance for 5 years. He picked up a knife off a display in a supermarket and began stabbing people. Looks like he chose to commit suicide by cop.

The world is full of self- radicalized people and not all of it is ISLAM- related.

Had this guy been in the US he would have had easier access to firearms and could have killed more, in less time, just as our home grown whack jobs do.

“The legal system that allows attacks such as this to occur” ? What does this mean?

According to the PM, he had been a “ person of interest” for 5 years and under surveillance. The Police did NOT accompany him into the store. He saw an opportunity and picked up a knife off a display and used it to stab 6 people. Police responded within 60 seconds.

No question this guy was aware he was under surveillance and chose today to commit suicide by cop.

Here in the US there is no shortage of people who idolize mass murderers/ serial killers. Occasionally, one is inspired by a prior and acts in kind.

I believe in an indirect way this could be attributed to Joe Biden’s dealings with Afghanistan and the Taliban. He showed weakness of the USA towards the Taliban thus emboldening those who hold radical Islamist ideology. Radical Islamist have always wanted to attack infidels. Now that the Taliban is back in charge of Afghanistan they now feel ready to carry out such attacks. Thanks to the Internet radical Islamist can spread their message around the world creating more terrorist regardless of race and nation. I expect a rise in Islamic terrorist attacks in other places including the Philippines, Indonesia, Western Europe, and North America.

So the soldier hacked to death on a busy London street by machete wielding thugs wouldn't have happened under Boris the mop-headed muppet's watch?? https://www.reuters.com/article/us-b...94L0WU20130522

All countries have their hands full with these cretins and so far, given their success over the last couple of decades at perpetrating these types of attacks on innocent people - no country has yet to come up with a way to effectively head them off and still observe the "rule of law" that sets us all apart from the chit-holes they come from.

Sri Lankan man in New Zealand (over 7,000 miles away from the US), known to NZ Police since 2016, carries out a knife attack on other New Zealanders = Biden!
