How are the figures in the public records being inflated?

Let's not conflate US military equipment with Afghan National Army equipment that was supplied by the US.

There are miles of difference between the two.

Gateway Pundit is a National Enquirer site.

This is why I say the numbers are inflated. You are using figures for all the equipment not what was left behind. Some of these numbers are for ammunition from 2004 - 2016.

More than 40 aircraft belonging to the Afghan Air Force were flown to Uzbekistan before the Taliban took over.

Actually, I believe there were some kind of deal between US troops on the ground and Taliban. ANyway, not all are US-owned equipment, so US troops have no right to "disable" them. In fact, that is another dumb move by Biden admin. Why upset Taliban when you need them to do you a favour?

You don't think the Chinese, who seem to be pals of the Taliban, or Russians know how to "maintain and service all that stuff"?

What utter bs. I’m sure some of the helicopters were disabled but that’s why they’ll probably just sell them to Russia and China instead.

Well believe it. Lot of simple folks who need to think before speaking out.
Tons and tons of equipment. But if the engine is missing a few parts or sand in the oil...its just tons and tons of metal.

73 out of how many planes total ?

Those 73 are a drop in the bucket to the hundreds of planes we left there.
Those 73 could end up being spare parts for the ones that are working.

Over 200 planes per GAO report and some here think those 73 were all of them.
