Exhibit A on how NOT to win the hearts and minds of Americans.

And to add insult to injury, this dude is tweeting from his iPhone.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...od-ration.html

Quote:
An Afghan refugee who shared a photo of his meager food ration at Fort Bliss has divided the internet as some slam him as 'ungrateful' while others mocking the meal for resembling the now iconic, pathetic cheese sandwich from the disastrous Fyre Festival.

On Thursday, Ahmadi took to Twitter to share his evening meal; two tiny slivers of chicken, a few small chunks of cantaloupe and a bit of bread. The ration would have to last him 12 hours until his next meal.

The tweet sparked strong reactions on both sides, with some furious that Ahmadi was criticizing the free food as a refugee and even called for him to be sent back to Afghanistan.

Seriously, that’s screwed up. A person cannot survive on that small amount. Ungrateful? We told them we would take care of them. THAT is not taking care of them.

I’m sure he’s grateful to be here, but hunger is not something someone should be “grateful” for.

This seems to be a hiccup, a problem in service delivery that happens in emergency situations. No one higher up thinks this is the plan, and it will be corrected.

Just like when the hordes of evacuees were in the dome in New Orleans after Katrina, problems arise in the supply chain when there is an emergency situation.

And this will be fixed.

I understand that. His tweet was sensible, as well. But of course we have a bunch of boomers who have never been a refugee, trashing on the guy. He was simply pointing it out, and who “wants” to be a refugee? He said nothing wrong.

He needs to leave the base, enter Mexico illegally, turn around and reenter the United States with a caravan of Hondurans and get himself processed as an asylum seeker.

When he gets relocated to a red state where Democrats are competitive (Georgia, et. al.), he'll get food stamps and eat like a ****ing king - problem solved!

Some reason they can't hand out MREs?

I guess he could’ve stayed in Afghanistan and gotten executed by the Taliban. Would that improve his current ration situation?

Seriously though, people don’t understand how difficult it is to move 120,000 people out of a war zone, across the globe, while at the same time taking care of all their needs (food, housing, clothing, medical needs, etc.), while simultaneously trying to screen out all the bad actors who wish to do us harm. Make no mistake, many were caught trying to sneak in.

In fact, there is only one Air Force in the world that can do all of that, and it is the USAF.

So to this guy, and others, it will get better, just give it time.

They are way more expensive than real meals. Way more, like six times as much last time my husband had reason to know this.

We do need to make sure there is enough rice that people can get as much as they need/want. It’s cheap, relatively easy to make, culturally appropriate, and filling.

It’s not a good move for him to complain though. Right now we are struggling with also providing food to Americans who have lost everything in a significant natural disaster.
