Sounds like it might be time to overhaul our health care system, eh?
The problem is corruption. What are you going to do to the health care system to solve that problem?
Add more government? I hope not. That would inevitably lead to more corruption, not less, exacerbating the problem instead of solving it.
Until you can solve human nature, people will be corruptible. Give them an opportunity to be corrupt which they didn't previously have, and you'll get more corruption.
If you want to solve for corruption, you try to remove the opportunity. Human nature won't change. Transparency and an interested populace is how it happens. Both of those conditions must be met, though, and the second is a lost cause as long as people are more interested in learning about the latest "WAP" controversy than learning about their system of government and what that government is doing. "A republic, if you can keep it."
That doesn't solve the problem. Profits are irrelevant. Profit is just a number at the bottom of a page. Taking profit out of the process doesn't take money, favors or influence out of the process.
Only transparency can do that, and only if the People bother to look.
