This is what I don’t get. Why do we have to show any pity whatsoever about people who cross our borders illegally? I have nothing against any immigrant that comes to the US, but please come here LEGALLY!!! Why is that so hard for people to understand?!?! There’s nothing racist about it! If I walk into a movie theater without paying and they throw me out, should I assume they are racist against me??? Goodness gracious, please love to throw racism as an excuse for them to do whatever they want without following the law!!

I don't want hospitals turning anyone away. What I want are fewer illegal aliens.

There should be a shoot to kill order at the border.
They are foreign invaders. It’s illegal and a matter of national security.
If they enacted that, and word got out, I believe the border issue would cease before a single shot is fired. The world knows we’re a bunch of suckers. So they just walk all over us without a care in the world. That mentality needs to change.

Not sure the impact of illegals on ICU beds is significant.

I think this is another 'diversion' to avoid the obvious -- unvaccinated are the majority in hospitals in the USA and around the world.

But 'illegals'./

Agreed. It's not the business of hospitals to fix our immigration policy. They have enough on their plate.

Biden has been busing illegal immigrants, including unaccompanied minors, in all over the country. I don't know if hospitals even check immigration status before treating a critically ill person....so why would you think that illegal immigrants aren't being hospitalized when they get sick?

Biden's border policies are not helping matters for the hospitals.

Hospitals are the only private businesses not allowed to turn away a person who cannot pay. People know this and take advantage of the system. Show up in a time of need and then not pay leaving the rest of us with the bill. This goes for everyone who is irresponsible for not having insurance or the means to cover medical expenses... Illegal or not.

If an illegal immigrant has the means to pay for it.... by all means.. its not hospitals job nor responsibility to deal with the illegal immigration problem. Like it isn't the responsibility for a private store/restaurant to check for customers' status when an illegal patrons their establishment. Yes we have an illegal immigration problem but a private business's operation isn't the vehicle to solve it.

I know it is draconian.....

75% of US hospitals are non-profit, fyi.

Unvaxxed illegals. It’s a real thing ya know.
It’s not like every icu is full of nothing but knuckle dragging whitebread rednecks.
Although that’s what you are lead to believe.

There is no data to back up your feelings on this issue.

DeSantis claimed this back in May or June and officials at the Florida Health Department said there was no records at any hospital to suggest illegals were impacting their resources.

He made it up

And you bought it.
