These people already have by being quarantined and, what we don't know, is if this measure was enacted because one or some of the residents DID get drunk and violated the quarantine or caused a problems with the other residents.
Part of a story is much "better" than the whole thing.
rules to address problems the previous rules created. Its the govt circle of life
Wow, maybe they would have been better off under Imperial Japanese control. The Aussies I’ve known in my life would have given anyone the finger trying to tell them how much they could drink.
Who drinks more than six beers, six mixed drinks, or 1 whole bottle of wine per day??? Is this really an issue?
Anyone that wants to.
I realize that this is in Australia (for now) but I'm telling you if we tolerate COVID vaccine mandates on any level, monitoring alcohol consumption is next. And after that, beef.
BTW. Lockdowns have led to drastic increases in alcohol consumption. There are numerous, easy-to-find articles so I won't bother linking.
1: Austrailians don't drink Fosters.
2: Even the Soviet Union realized it was easier to control a population that had access to all the alcohol they wanted, so no matter the shortages of food, housing and everything else, the soviet government made sure the vodka flowed freely.
3: With Austrailia's endless lockdowns, perhaps they're rationing because they're running out? You have to have farmers growing the grains and hops, the grapes to make alcohol. You have to have the brewery's, winerys and distillarys operating to make the alcohol.
If all the workers that are in the chain to make alcohol are locked down, there isn't anyone making the stuff, the stocks will deplete over time.
If it gets bad enough, we may have to send care packages of Budwiser and Thunderbird () to our poor allies down under!!
