If you are vaxxed and I am not, please explain how that's a threat to you.

while it seems that both vaxed and unvaxed people can carry the virus and spread it...the evidence supports getting the vax lessons the severity of the sickness...
this may not be a direct effect on me, however it might overwhelm a hospitals ability to treat people and in an indirect way hurt others needing hospitalization

It isn't. The problem they have is that it ticks them off to see anyone making a choice different from their own.

I have a smallpox vaccine. I'm protected from that disease with XXX probability. I couldn't care less whether my neighbor or friend has a smallpox vaccine. That is their choice to make.

Therein lies the philosophical difference between those who believe in authoritarian collectivism and tyranny, as opposed to those who believe in mutual individual liberty.

The hospitalization argument could also apply to vaccinated and unvaccinated people who are obese as well since that is the group most often hospitalized for Covid.

Because you are an incubator for viral mutation, reducing the effectiveness of my vaccination.

Because if you get infected and have to be hospitalized in the ICU, that is one less bed for people who may need it for other reasons.

Because if you are infected and come into proximity with me, there is a small chance I may catch a breakthrough infection.

And you could also be struck with lightning tomorrow or die in a car crash on the freeway. The obvious remedy is to live under a rock and never come out.

Because vaccinated people can carry the virus. If you, unvaccinated, pass it onto me, I, showing no symptoms, can then pass it on to someone else who is immunocompromised.

This has been beaten to death, but getting vaccinated does not prevent you from getting the virus. It prevents you getting severe symptoms and having to be intubed, then likely dying. That is how a vaccine works, you were taught that in school, I would hope.

And that is the problem. People keep trying to use it as a "gotcha", "look, vaxxed people still getting sick!", yes...no one ever said they wouldnt? But your chance of death has gone down tremendously. This is why so many people who end up in the ICU are begging for the vaccine, just to be told its too late. It's why people who are on their death bed urge people to get it, they know what's coming and know it could have been prevented, but theyre out of time.

It's really sad, but also unphasing to see all this play out. It's so preventable. If you dont want to get the shot fine dont, but at least masking up will help keep everyone safe. Again, if you are sick, you will pass it to everyone.

I mean, this is the answer.

I have no idea why it needed to be explained but ok.
