He is our president. Hope he does a good job, because I am a real patriot. So far I think he is lousy though and his virtue signaling crap is tiresome.
I do hope every president republican or Democrat succeed being good for the sake of all Americans, but with Biden, he messes up everything he touches.

Yea, so, you obviously have a new screen name, but lvmensch is far more left than conserative. I'll admit, in another thread, he agreed with me, once. You have just over 100 posts, so again, what was your last screen name, if you know this much about lvmensch?
He is simply claiming he knew what was coming but decided it was the best thing and kept going. And he is a "big boy" politician who has been doing it for over 50 years. I believe he asserted at one point that his choices were evacuate or escalate. he chose the one with the lowest harm to the US.
I disagree as I've read some heinous acts done by past governments. So clearly there are far worse strategies out there. You just happen to be limited on past history antics to make such a limited opinion of ' worse'
Nope Biden was playing the hand he was dealt. Until the Afghan government collapsed he thought he was following a track well established by the US. But unfortunately they were all wrong.
I do believe he could have done better after the Afghan government collapsed. But that was also tricky. Most likely he would have needed to move in a few thousand more troops and risk more casualties.
The hand he was dealt included getting the **** out by May 1st, and no told him to pull the military out before US civilians.
Having a plan-B for possible surprises along the way would have helped too.

Where's the controversy? If Biden was black and called himself a grown-assed man instead of a big boy, or as white guys say in the south, a big ol' boy, who would even notice it?
It's a colloquial expression. People attack you and you say I'm a big girl or boy and can take it.
