What we need is compulsory voting. That's right, every citizen MUST vote, or be subject to a fine. This is the case in 21 countries, including Australia and Brazil. Voting is not a right; it is a duty. To facilitate this, ANY roadblock to voting must be removed.
I favor mail-in voting, and possibly on line voting. If we can do our taxes online, which carries a much higher motivation for fraud, we should be able to vote online. You have a username and a password, then they can verify by sending a code to your phone, or by answering some personal questions. This works for everything else, why not voting?

LOL. Must vote for whom? "Any Roadblock to voting must be removed." This last election was a lesson in not having any reason to vote! Find decent honorable candidates instead of politicians who have been bought and paid for by corporate interests and maybe voting turnout will rise.

This is the dumbest thing Ive ever heard. We dont need people voting just to vote, we need informed people to vote. If people choose not to vote it is their right to do so. Informed people take the time to go to the polls because they want to make a difference.
We do so much online. Banking, shopping etc. There are secure methods and systems out there. I don't see why voting could not be as simple as making your choice on a cell phone and pushing a vote button. Done.

Banking has it's own ultra secure setup called SWIFT.
Online shopping ...depends on how much the retailer wants to spend on security.
The government....they are decades behind in implementing technology except when it comes to research.

"Secure", right. And the headlines are full of people breaking into these "secure" systems, releasing millions of peoples' private information, hacking pipelines, shutting down 1/4 of the country's beef production, you name it, for week after week, month after month. And those are only the biggest cases.

That's right, you don't see it.
