I’d like to say that We could have spent 1000 years in Afghanistan. And in my opinion? We still would have never won. The Taliban still would have taken control. This war was a waste of treasure, and of precious lives. If Somebody feels strongly about this, including that Pennsylvania politician, let them go fight in Afghanistan. Not our young troops.

1000’s more troops could have died if we stayed. Let them fight their own wars. American intervention does not work.

Considering that the Russians were there for nine years and got nowhere, you could pretty much predict we wouldn't have any success either.

I always thought going in there was a bad idea to begin with. I just wish the end would've been better (and a lot sooner). It was a huge waste of lives & money, and the only ones that benefitted in the end was the Taliban.
