You are misinformed. Someone fleeing to another country through a port of entry and asking for asylum or refugee status is not illegal. A person crossing the border NOT at a border station is an illegal.
Hundreds of thousands are crossing into the country all along the border while agents are congregated at the port of entry. True there are other areas that are seeing illegal obrder crossings.
But the particular entry port highlighted in this piece is a legal port of entry....but it's closed now.
The Biden administration announced late on Friday that it was moving to temporarily shut down the Del Rio Port of Entry along the Texas-Mexico border due to the more than 10,000 illegal aliens that had flooded the area, with hundreds more arriving on a seemingly regular basis.
“U.S. Customs and Border Protection today announced that the Office of Field Operations (OFO) Del Rio Port of Entry will temporarily close and re-route traffic from Del Rio to Eagle Pass to more effectively manage resources and ensure uninterrupted flow of trade and travel,” the agency said in a statement.

Closing the POE will have NO effect on the continuing deluge of illegal aliens pouring into the country, bringing mostly illiteracy, poverty, no skills, and Covid with them.

The worse was no visits. It’s numbing because you have been detached for almost 2 months and now we wait on the remains 4/5 weeks they said. Maybe a lack of closure is what this means. In any case - the immigrants at the border, are not the ones who brought Covid. We let our guard down. Period.
